20 piglets

[Hollow Point]

One of my seasoned blue butt sows had 20 piglets yesterday. Unfortunately 5 were stillborn, and she was so exhausted she fell on 5 more. Heats real bad on her now,hosing her off all day and keeping a fan on her. She's still exhausted from giving birth

20 is huge! One of my sows had 19 once, she was exhausted too. My wife called me home from work and I pulled the last 5 or 6. Out of 19a she kept 13. She was a big pig.

She's my best sow, her last litter produced 15. One of her offspring had 10 last week with all surviving and no issues, but she is not as big as Big Mamma. I think from here on out I may hold off on breeding her till she only births in the fall, winter or early spring, heat was a big issue.

Wow!!! Congrats on the piglet!! Sorry about the loses!
We had one last year that had 18 all herself, this year we had a first timer have 10!
Our shelters are cement walls and floors with wood roofs, and we have found the cement, with a bale of straw works awesome at keeping the pigs cool in the heat of the summer!
