We have only had that happen once but it turned out to be a bacterial infection and we gave penicillin. It i s commonly called joint ill usually caused by infection from the navel, wound or even when giving the CDT shot. I don't remember the dosage but if you have a vet, call and see what the dosage should be. We called ours and he told us but we had a relationship. The course of treatment is daily for seven days or possibly five since it has been several years ago the memory has faded.
