So... reeling from the realization that kid 3 is in a serious relationship.
If I can stand upright long enough... I wanted to share photos. Gorgeous day today. We did the blessing of the outdoor waters today.
We have a new parishioner, from Maryland. Young guy, used to be a lifeguard, on the swim team, etc. Etc. He was super excited to get to jump into the water, in Alaska, in the winter. And so he ASKED Father to toss the cross out super far.
Youth!! Wonderful!
The beach was COVERED in ice, but shockingly not all that slippery. I had forgotten to bring my cleats, abs was fine anyway.
Here we are setting up.
Here Father just tossed the cross. See it WAY OUT, in the air?? You will have to zoom in.
And here the cross just splashed down! Way out in the water!
Yes, it was far enough out that he did have to swim. And he IS a great swimmer, nice fast freestyle.

Here in VA Beach they do a "plunge" event each year to raise $$ for a charity. Not as cold as there but, about 100 people do it.
