Yeah... and it isn't usually this cold, for this long... at least not where I am.

I went to town today to buy 2 big propane tanks (the ones we own we took up to son #3 who is building his house and doesn't currently have any electricity.)

And.... (insert drumroll) EVERY SINGLE TANK IN TOWN HAS BEEN SOLD.

Anyway.... the pump in the well keeps trying to work and keeps failing. Well guy is maybe going to make it today, but if not today then tomorrow.

And.... at this point it is probably the well pump. And since the well pump is no longer working right, the water sits still too long and then freezes.... etc. Blah, blah... :tongue

One super nice thing...

One of the renters moved stuff about and snow blowed so the well guys can drive their big equipment up to the well head. I can't remember anymore how deep the well is, but I know it is something around 100 feet.

Anyway, NICE that I didn't have to do that, and that the kids didn't either!

Wow! WHAT A DAY!!!!

Ridiculous tooth thing with youngest.... having to drive up to Anchorage for his teeth....

Left home at 12-ish and got to Anchorage about 4:30, so a fast drive.... which is good, since it was hitting full dark by 4:30, and it was starting to snow as well....

Son and I grabbed food.... then went to the hotel to check in... they said "what reservation??" :th

And... all rooms were booked... some flights had been delayed, and some boats had been delayed... so no hotel rooms.

I called 2 hotels, second hotel said try X, and after being on hold for forever, I did get a room at X. I think it was the last of 2 rooms left at that hotel.

So.... now, I AM IN A HOTEL ROOM! Glory to God!!! And I am on the phone... on hold... 15 minutes already... trying to get my money back from Priceline (the first hotel was booked through Priceline).

Oh.... as to the well saga...

Yesterday they pulled the pump, said the pump was struggling, over heating, and then turning itself off. Repeat, etc.

So, old pump. They also said that the well needed to be cleaned, we get iron slime stuff in wells, and it was gumming up the old pump.

So, last night they poured bleach down the well, this morning they flushed the well and put in a new pump, and also said the pressure guage is broken.

Whatever.

Everything is currently working, when they have time they will replace the pressure guage. At least there is water again.

And.... I have no idea how big this bill will be. :hide

Priceline actually sounded reasonable. But they couldn't get anyone at the hotel to answer the phone....

They said they would try to call the hotel again in the morning, abs get everything straightened out, and my money back.
"Try" :rolleyes:

Glad you're in a room!

I had issues in the past with booking .com and hotels .com, but have had no issues with Expedia. I must have used Priceline at some point, but don't recall.
