Barn Fire- 40 goats dead

This happened this morning, maybe 15 miles from me. I don't know the owner but as President of the Northern Kentucky Goat Producers I am trying to find a way to help.

Oh my. Just the thought of all of those goats losing their lives so horribly makes me cry. Definitely a reminder to us all to be careful and secure things that can cause fires.

I am constantly checking my heat lamps when they are in use. Making sure the wood around them isn't hot, hay hasn't gotten near...it always worries me. I think in the future I may go with those heating pads. I've read they are much safer.

The cause of the fire was heat lamps. They had brand new babies and temps down in the 30's. It breaks my heart.

Very sad! Hate thinking of how the people that owned them are feeling after losing all them and the poor goats. So sad.
