The dogs always enjoy our, “Let’s go Walkin’ excursions around the pasture. They play, run to the fence to ward off danger and torment the big blue crane that wants to check out the pond for something to eat. Look how big Buford has grown! He’s bigger than Senrty and almost as big as Sheba!

I built a dog platform. I’m going to move Cooper across the driveway to Ringo’s old pen. I can’t put Buford in with the lambs overnight, he’s still in the “play with me stupid stage”. So he will share the pen with Cooper. Might even get taught some manners and respect. The platform will give Buford a place to get away from Cooper, either on top or under it. Still need to build a hoop cover from the weather and for shade. Or maybe another pallet palace.

I finished my carpentry wonder (wonder how i screwed up so much expensive treated lumber) fixed all my mistakes with more deck screws, and called the dogs. Sentry was first up, very pleased with himself. Then Sheba.

I called Buford. He couldn’t jump up there, didn’t know how.

He kinda belly flopped half his body up on the platform so he could play with Sheba.

I can see me adding onto this and making a dog and granddaughter play ground.

I sat with the Texas Five yesterday morning and evening when I fed them. I laid my horrible hand in the feed tub and the girls got touched. But not Cleopatra. She declined the Feast of the Human Hand and would rather starve. We’ll see how long this lasts. I was able to touch them on the side of their faces, and a few got their back scratched.

I think this they may always be a little spooky. But at least they aren’t bouncing off the wire like they were. They do recognize me as the bringer of FOOD and that’s a plus.
The four ewes I got back in August (not from Ridgetop) were really wild. It took the owner a few weeks to get them in their trailer (I didn't have a trailer at the time) I didn't spend time like you are and all four wouldn't even come close to the wild category any more and they all will take treats from me (thanks to everyone here saying "animal crackers" :)).
