I watered all the sheep and was dripping wet, so hot! I sat on the porch to cool off and Rocky wanted attention. I sat on the steps, that’s his cue to come get petted. He loves to have his face stroked. I stopped several times and put my hand on the step. Every time he gently touched my hand with his nose, for me to pet him some more.

Rocky has gained weight, he is wide. I could put a dinner plate on his back. His neck and shoulders are thick, he’s a big boy.

Saturday I went to the farmers market in Lufkin to get some cucumbers. I had 5 that my one cucumber plant produced but that wasn’t enough. I made my grandmother’s spicy sweet lime pickles. Those are so good!
I also had a recipe for pineapple cowboy candy, so bought some jalapeños for that.

I got 2 1/2 jars of the pineapple cowboy candy. It’s good, but not hot enough. Needs some whole red cayenne peppers.

I sliced the cucumbers Saturday and soaked them in lime water overnight. I made them into pickles Sunday after church. I got 7 pints. I would have had 8 pints but Mr. Stupid showed up and I knocked over a full pint jar. Hot syrup and pickles went all over the counter, ran down drawer fronts, made puddles in the drawers, on the floor, on the anti fatigue matts and on my feet. Massive sticky mess! I wiped down everything, took matts outside and cleaned them, wiped up syrup and pickles off the floor, mopped floor and washed my feet.

I made deviled eggs with my pickles, cooked a piece of salmon and topped it with the pineapple cowboy candy plus a crumbled strip of bacon. Delicious!

I just had to laugh --- we had lemongrass salmon last night and I topped it with the cowboy candy that I made a few days ago!!
