I was on Fosamax for 4 years. No side effects. Took care of my osteopenia. Now its back. I get a dexa scan once a year to see how fast I'm deteriorating. I take CA Vid D supplement every morning with my tea.
Yeah that's the stuff I was on. Nasty for me once I figured out all the little things were side effects.

I am not surprised by the damage the feral hogs are inflicting. I just had no idea they were that bad in Australia. In TX I have seen several types of traps.. including the round type that drop when triggered by something... and the ones on the video phone cameras are good as it allows the farmer to "wait" to catch a bigger sounder of hogs... they get accustomed to eating there and no big upset... more follow and then a larger number can be caught. The one picture showed that one side got hung up and a few actually escaped before it came straight down... I have seen several videos of similar type traps in TX where they drop right straight down and boom... you have caught a whole bunch. Most of the ranchers I have come to "know" on CT talk about having to kill 100 a year just to keep the population from getting any bigger... in other words, they are breeding/reproducing so fast that 100 need to be killed ... per rancher.... just to maintain status quo...
@Baymule talks of the damage they do to her fields...
The S.O.B.'s are smart, and faster than greased lightning..

Feral hogs eat lambs here in Texas too. I've actually seen hogs right up against my fence. I'll be glad when I can finally fence my back field. They grab a lot of lambs from the flocks in west Texas. Dogs are good deterrent. I went to a demonstration at the Gus Engling Wildlife Management Area near Palestine, Texas and that is 11,000 acres. It was June and they had already trapped over 700 hogs just trying to keep numbers from going up any more. They did an experiment to see what flavors enticed hogs the most, they set out piles of corn with different things added and put cameras up to see the results. Of course, hogs ate all the corn, but what they went to first was strawberry. So anyone out there with a hog problem, Buy the cheapest strawberry soda at the dollar store and soak your corn in it or just pour it over the corn.

I love watching the hog videos on facebook, idiots rail against the mean cruel men for trapping and killing the hogs. The idiots get told off real quick. I really hate stupid idiots. I had some friends on a ranch and hogs came in one night and bedded down in their carport! The next day they had a hog hunter come and set out bait. It was corn in a trap and they caught over 25 hogs, most over 200 pounds. Shooting hogs is cause for celebration.

I remember you and your neighbors processed some of the hogs you shot on your new property. What does a hog hunter do with that many carcasses? Are the older ones good eating or just the piglets?

Kinda like the invasive fish? in FL where they are catching, selling to restaurants and eating them. Can one do the same with hogs?
