Who by the way must have been exchanging emails with Obi Wan - who now picks up every dog bowl in trade for a little snack, thank goodness my timing of NO on the water bowl has worked (though he did spill the one in the bedroom picking it up before I noticed).

You’re gonna have to stop reading Boone’s adventures to your dogs!

Worked Boone out back on his obedience with an e collar. Never once had to buzz him. (I only need the vibration with him)
His stay to recall was almost perfect, his heel and coming to me and turning in to heel and sit was perfect with a lure. If I can do all this often enough it will become a habit for him. (I hope)
When I am out back and feel myself getting wobbly I can holler at him wherever he’s out playing and he will come and faultlessly escort me to the house, so that’s a habit for him. ..he’s a very gud boi…sometimes….

Boone loves going out to do chores. I’m in a lot of pain this morning (my own fault for multi tasking all day yesterday) and when Tom invited Boone to go with him to feed, he was really torn about wether to go with Tom or stay with me. He looked back and forth between us and Tom left. I thanked Boone for staying, then he got up, went out the door to catch up with Tom

Tom is doing SO much better! I think his depression is lifting. He gets cold really easily and I’ve been sure to let him know we want him to be comfortable, and ask what he likes to eat, etc. He’s talking to me more but I can’t understand him, with his beard and mustache, hesitation and missing teeth. I struggle to understand anyone and need to see their mouth…if only we all knew sign language!

Boone has really mastered his dog puzzle. It has slots he has to push open to find a treat, but there are little “bones” set on the edges that lock the slots. All the bones have to be removed first. He gets them out in record time, then opens all his slots, brings me all the “bones” and he carefully and deliberately puts them in his carry case, then brings the puzzle to me to reload. It’s by far his favorite toy.
Sometimes he was getting excited and trying to chew the bones which are only made of plastic and if misshapen won’t work anymore. I holler at him and he’s suddenly very gentle with them

I won’t be taking him with me to Randy’s surgery because of his travel anxiety. Until I can get meds for him I won’t be taking him anywhere. Hope I can get a vet appointment for him soon as there are other issues I need to address. Driving a cranky Randy home o er the dirt road with Boone flipping out in the backseat is more than I could deal with. He gets exponentially worse each trip. The goggles help but he pops the lenses out then they are useless.
So today I have to wash all the bedding pre-surgery and get a filthy, oily Fen groomed and nails trimmed so he can accompany me to the hospital tomorrow. I will have 2 dogs miffed at me.

Fen is keeping me grounded. Randy went in the back, hospital registration has been a bit of a nightmare but we got through it. He has to have ekg before surgery. They didn’t like the last one and if they don’t like this one they will cancel his surgery. So I’m waiting to find out what is going on..
