I stopped twice on the way to Houston and walked Buford around. He peed, pooped, sniffed and loaded back up in the car.

I rode with back windows halfway down and the AC blasting. Buford panted all the way. We got there, checked in and waited our turn.

We went into a little room and they brought out a black Labrador puppy in her first heat. Buford showed little interest. So we went outside, the back was fenced in. He showed more interest, the vet reached under him. Buford did not growl or try to bite him, that’s always good. But he wasn’t getting “excited”. He wasn’t totally freaked out like he was the first time, but definitely wasn’t trying to hump the female.

The vet suggested leaving Buford overnight in the female’s kennel so he could be in her scent, and her in the kennel next to him. They are going to try again this morning. 🙏

I’m having a cup of coffee, then outside in the dark to do chores. I’m going to the Sheriffs breakfast, meeting some friends there, then going back to Houston and get Buford.

They are going to try a female vet this morning, maybe Buford will be more comfortable with a lady playing with his ding ding than a man. 😂😂😂😂

There is a breeder in Virginia wanting a straw is semen right NOW. Buford just doesn’t know how much fun he is missing out on. If he can’t be collected this morning, I may try again or it may take a live breeding for him to know what the game is.

I’ve drawn up plans for a breeding cage16’ long, 100” wide. Horse panels on sides and ends, 2 cow panels on the bottom and 2 on the top. Back half enclosed with plywood, radiant heat barrier over the plywood, then tin. Treated 4x4 posts and treated 2x4’s frame. Dump truck load of dirt to build up a pad so it’s not in standing water in heavy rains. It’s gonna run me about a thousand bucks. But it will be secured and escape proof for visiting females plus I’ll be able to use it for my own females in heat. That’s saying my own females…… Buford has work to do! @Ridgetop has 2 girls she wants to breed to Buford! They will have palatial accommodations, complete with their own personal attendant (me) to wait on them hand and paws.

PLEEZE BUFORD! HUMP YOUR WAY TO HAPPINESS THIS MORNING!!!

My poor boy was not happy. He shut down, didn’t eat, they couldn’t take him out of his kennel, he growled at them. I apologized over and over. To him, not the people . Buford whined, he never whines, ever. I broke him out of jail, we went out the back door. It was closed in, he wouldn’t even pee there. The tech opened the gate and Buford was free! He relaxed more, peed on bushes and wagged his tail at me. He loaded up in the car and I told him we were going home.

I ran the gauntlet on I-10 before exiting to Loop 610, changing lanes to keep from exiting or other highways and toll roads splitting off. I-45 split off on both sides, Loop 610 straight in the 2 middle lanes. Then more highways splitting off to the left, to the right, there is no safe lane to stay in. Finally made it to Highway 59, future I-69, it split off to the right, then split off to South and North, I pointed it North!

I stopped in Kingwood for Starbucks and to let Buford out to walk around. I took a couple of pictures of him in the back seat. He takes the whole seat.

I put a blanket to cover the back seat. Buford got it all wadded up, then graciously shed hair all over the seat and floor. Oh well, I tried. I see a super sucker vacuum on my near future.

Got home, he had his head out the window, then movement caught my eye. His tail! His tail was sticking out the other window! Hahaha! Look closely at the truck in the background on the left. You can see a little floof of his tail.
