Thank you. Technically this is the first day, on retirement aka Social Security.I'm LOVING following this thread. Yall are doing great.

After this morning's first walk I put Caleb in his day crate with a frozen chicken foot (foster mom's recommendation), then drove about a mile to the vet to add Caleb to today's "walk in" sign up sheet. I'll take him over about 9ish. Based upon previous experience we'll have an hour or more wait, but there's always the possibility that some of the 7 or 8 clients ahead of Caleb will be short visits or no-shows, so it's best to be there once they open.
We're working on "drop" and not grabbing the ball out of my hand. I make Caleb sit and then take the ball gently once I offer it.
I've been using the standard "choke" collar for walks, but did get a martingale collar, which will probably be easier on his neck.
