The stuffed toys are $1.25 each at Dollar Tree. I grabbed 5 but have only given him two so far. He loves the furry coverings, still plays with them after the squeaker and stuffing are long gone. DS calls them "pelts"!

I'm wondering if taking him for walks and rides, experiencing new places, new people, new dogs, has given Caleb more confidence, to chase off the loose dog?

I'm sure it probably helped. Goes hand in hand (or paw in paw ) with socializing your dog. The more experiences they get the better they are.

Caleb had his first "wait in the car" today at the Postal annex (USPS, UPS, FedEx) while I mailed a couple packages. He was alone for about 5 minutes, and did well, no yipping, didn't seem upset. I did get a kiss on my ear after I got back in the driver's seat.

He used to be scared of car rides, now he starts bouncing around when I grab the car keys.
