Caleb's Chronicles

This morning a friend needed a ride to pick up new eyeglasses. Caleb came along.

While we were waiting I took Caleb for a walk around the shopping center next door, on a busy intersection.

As we circled the shopping center we came upon two sets of steps, and Caleb practiced waiting at the top while I descended.

Practicing sit and wait outside a restaurant.

Here we're walking along a very busy, noisy street. He sat and waited before we crossed every entrance, driveway. The traffic worried him some, but he did great!

Sitting and waiting, what a good boy.

After we came home...tired boy!

I noticed that Caleb's training ("choke") collar is already worn, chrome coming off, and links are kinking. In 50+ years of having a dog I have never seen this type of wear. Ah, such quality.

I found a company that sells stainless steel collars, have ordered one. Will let y'all know, in case you're interested. Herm Sprenger is the brand.

I skipped morning yard work, went walking instead.

This is a manmade pond surrounded by a half mile paved walking trail. Twenty years ago we were living in a trailer park in this location.

We did the half mile walk.

I stopped at the local nursery, got some collards and cabbage seedlings while Caleb waited, 15 minutes. I also stopped at Lidl, went in for 10 minutes while Caleb waited.

Final stop was a Harris Teeter shopping center, where we took a short circuit.

Crash time.

I think this is what Caleb needs...
