Cut leg in sections. Sew together on one end, sew other end almost closed, stuff and hand sew the rest of that end. For the bottom of the leg, where the bottom seam is, just sew across several times right above that bottom seam. Tuck under the cut edge and sew across that, leaving enough open to put stuffing in, then hand stitch or machine stitch to close it up. Use the rest of the leg in like manner. Blue jean legs also make good pot holders. but not the stretchy ones!
I've done that! But I put a tennis ball inside.

Took feral cat to vet, waiting room was empty, so I went home and brought Caleb back for a nail trim.

It did not go well. He was taken in the back, I heard him yelp, then barking. Then silence.

When he was led back to me he was disheveled. I was told he tried to bite the tech, that he "peed and pooped himself", and that they had to muzzle him. They also rinsed him off, but he needs a bath.

I had him sit with me in the vet's waiting room for about 10 minutes before leaving.

I took him for a long ride to calm him down.

Sometimes it feels as if everything I do leads to another setback.

So sorry that happened. It happened to one of my pups when he was in a fear stage -- "took him in the back" -- brought him out and owners were told he tried to bite them. Well HELL YES -- and the pup was ~ 6mos old. What the hell. It's taken them a very long time to get the sweet puppy back.
I will never let my dogs be taken in the back if at all possible. Just say NO. So sorry, give Caleb an extra snuggle for me.

Next time you go with him. They can stick it where the sun don't shine, he's YOUR dog and he needs you with him. He may blame you for it, but it's still best that you are with him. Or you might try a groomer. Take him for grooming a few times to get him used to it, then try clipping his nails. Or maybe slowly get him used to the nail clipper and do it yourself.

I like to watch the Husky videos of them getting their nails clipped, such drama!

After the long ride I took Caleb to another park, just to chill.

It was deserted so we walked around a little.

Saw a couple fishermen, and a Kubota. Caleb wasn't sure about the Kubota. On its third pass he ignored it.

On the ride home.

Update: after getting home Caleb laid down and relaxed for a few minutes.

Then he saw Debbie.

They did a nose to nose encounter.

Once Caleb turned away Debbie smacked his rear. He scurried away, but not in a panic.
They have accepted each other as family! 💗 Mom, she hit my butt...lol

Thank you! I will be making these for our puppies once my sewing room is unpacked. I have centuries of pink eye patches made and never want to make more from old jeans. This is a great way to use up old jeans!

Really great on the feral cat. We work so hard here on that. It's getting harder and harder but each one makes a dent.
I'm so sorry on the nail trim. I've heard so many horror stories of vet staff doing nail trims. Poor guy was seriously stressed to go to the bathroom on himself. Shame on that staff for continuing on with him while not addressing the fear or at least notifying you and asking if you want them to continue. That only makes it worse in the future. Those kinds of staff make me so angry. I do not let my dogs/cats go without me. If they insist then I will find a new vet. Might work with him on his trims yourself and make it a good experience. See if you can get him over the fear. Don't blame yourself. I completely understand blaming yourself for the setbacks but it's not your fault. You both will get through this.

It seems that clinics like to not have owners present anymore. Especially because they have to put extra effort into care when owners are around vs rush through at the animals expense with no one holding them accountable. It's infuriating.
The husky videos are so hysterical! I couldn't have one. Way too much drama in that package.

The poor feral...

The vet gives the cats a reversal shot to bring them out of the anesthesia more quickly. "Mohawk" seemed alert in the trap when I brought him home, but when I opened the end he flew out, rolled, struggled to stand, and continued staggering and falling across the yard.

Next cat neutered gets to recover for a couple hours before I release him.
