A good day today!
We headed for the park earlier than usual, there by 8:15. The path was pretty quiet, some walkers, some joggers, one lady with a stroller. At one point a man with a hound approached us from the opposite direction, but the hound was non reactive, and Caleb was interested, pulled just a little, but was not whiny. We passed each other almost without a second glance.
About 10:15 I drove over to the hospital to meet my friend/coworker after her chemo appointment. They were running late so I stood and talked with her spouse outside my car. I had it running with the AC blowing since it was already in the 80s. Caleb laid down in the backseat and took a nap! Very nice.
Later in the afternoon I put Caleb out on his cable while I fed the chickens and watered some plants. He really is enjoying "ball", so after my chores I alternately tossed his two balls for a few minutes. As soon as he dropped one ball at my feet I'd toss the second. He does jumps and spins even while on his cable, and I can see him in the future possibility doing some type of agility activity.
It was warm, close to 90°. After coming inside I put three ice cubes in Caleb's water dish. He picked them out, took them somewhere in the house.
After dinner I took Caleb for a street walk. He was just a little anxious walking past the yappy dog's house, but then settled down for a relaxing stroll. He usually has nose to ground for most of his walks, but on this evening's return his head and ears were up, tail was gently waving. Good sign.
Caleb continues to be responsive to the "heel" command, but while on a leash. We work on that during walks. At some point I will see how he responds in the backyard, off leash.
He's unwinding with a chew toy right now, was just a little excited and needed some down time. I'll let him out once he's sufficiently relaxed.

dogs that attacked Caleb a couple months ago. They ran across the road in front of me. DF said I should have hit them, problem would have been solved. But if I had I wouldn't feel right about it.
