Once again I find myself checking multiple sources to verify what day it is. Until a few moments ago I KNEW it was Thursday.
Ugh....
I'm concerned that I'm NEVER going to get off night shift. My former trainee has been making several major errors - as if she just isn't trying or just isn't paying attention. And it's not even hot & uncomfortable yet.
I asked the supervisor Sunday night if I was ever going to get back to the Beamer after having worked the creel for WEEKS. He said that she's got to finish her 6-8 weeks of working solo first. Her what? I had never heard of this & I told him that no one had shared that little bit of info with me.
Then she will go to the creel to finish her training there. But since he doesn't want to train her there himself, he wants to get our lead creel tech certified as a trainer first.
I have SERIOUS doubts that they will be able to work together. He is very difficult to work closely with. A totally 'my way is the only way' kind of guy, constantly criticizing even the slightest difference. They've already bumped heads a few times when beamer & creel duties intersect. To train her, during the hottest months, to do the most frustrating & physical part of the job...
Well it just seems like a recipe for failure. She came very close to quitting during Beamer training & I put an awful lot of time into encouraging her to keep trying.
I'm just venting.
Rant over.
I need to get outside, generate a little vita D & have some dirt therapy.
