It's just going to stay unmowed until I'm better.

Good news. Test results: no pneumonia, WBC is within normal limits. But I'm exhausted just walking down 5 steps, outside. At this rate how am I going to get back to work next week?
:hu
I'm so glad it's not pneumonia. Just rest and get plenty of fluids. Hopefully this will soon pass.

Went outside, took my time watering the beds that were planted a couple weeks ago. The soil is starting to get dusty from lack of moisture.

The Sussex chicks are getting so big! I need to change their zip-tie leg bands, but the best way is after dark, taking them off the roost. I wear my headlamp set on red light. Not happening tonight, but probably in the next couple days, as I don't want the ties to get too tight on those growing cockerel legs!

The OEGB pullets are definitely more flighty than either the Sussex or Dominiques ever were. Julia is the smart one, figured out that I leave "treats" in the back of the coop while the others were distracted. I'm offering BOSS from my hand, which the older hens gobble up, and I can see the pullets assessing the situation. They may eventually "get it" well enough.

Floating egg = rotten is a myth. The ferals appreciated the results of my experiment.

Get a doctors note and take more time off. You need to be recovered from this mess so you don’t have a relapse.
I'm playing it day by day. Being indispensable has its disadvantages. Our 4 weeks of interviews start next Thursday. I have 46 candidates already scheduled, 5-6 every Monday and Thursday. Each interview involves a virtual appointment (like WebEx, Zoom), which I have to create individually, forward to candidates, and confirm. I've got it all set up for September 4th, but I have to be there to start each appointment, no one can do it for me. It's the stupidity of the software (thanks Bill!) Several faculty will be interviewing, they need the candidates' packets, reminders to show up to interview.

It's not going to happen if I am not there, which would be a disaster for the program.
