Test "day" 😀
If nothing has changed from yesterday..., when I get to work today I'll get to prove to my trainer that I can start the process from a box of raw fiber from the manufacturer to washed, inspected (2x), tested (2x), tripple wrapped & packed and ready to ship to the customer. The process will actually take almost 2 weeks because of the timing of the processes & machines; but I'm excited.
It'll show any gaps in my notes, or any bits where I didn't quite get the details of the process. This is my chance to make sure the 'Training Manual' I've been writing is complete enough that I can rely on it when/if I'm called to step into the lab after being back on the Beamer for months.
🤞🤞🤞

Busy day!!!! 😁
Today was the first sunny day off in weeks that I wasn't either sick or entertaining company.
I've given up waiting on either of the guys who said they were going to come look at my riding mower. The grass is knee-high at best, waist-high at worst!
I got out early & tried the mower a few times after letting the chickens out... just to be able to tell myself I tried. Cranks but no start.
Got the push mower out & started near the hay wagon.

Once that was done, I started clearing out the old hay that Eva left from last spring. Roughly 1/2 a bale tossed over the side 1 pitchfork at a time. Miss Eva..... ever helpful & encouraging came right over & started eating the hay! That would be the hay that she had completely ignored for 4 months! 😡 Somehow several pitchforks full landed on her head. She didn't care but it made me feel better.

There was a small bush growing under the wagon & when I was trying to rip it out I apparently dislodged this from somewhere up in the frame.

This is the bits that weren't yeeted halfway across the pasture when it fell in one piece across my hand.
I had to take a little break for first aid after I tried to do that yeeting by lifting my hand straight up through the body of the wagon. 😵‍💫

It's not that bad. A deep scratch really.
After a good cleaning, I finished up mowing between the pasture & barn.

My hay guy texted that he didn't think he was going to make it this afternoon so I decided to quit mowing & go get birthday gifts for my sister & her husband. It's been in the 80°'s with 85% humidity 🥵 so i was ready to stop anyway.
I picked up some little beef fried pie things I'm the way home. Tasty!!!
More mowing tomorrow if the rain holds off.

We were informed yesterday afternoon that our hours were being cut from 7am-7pm to 7am-5:30pm. From what I understand this happens every year in the 4th quarter. No overtime, work slowdowns, etc. We JUST got 300 rolls of raw product the day before, so I feel like, at least in the medical fiber lab, we're going to be busy through the rest of the year. I'm not really even mad about the hours, I'll get home before dark for a few weeks. 👍
