1 & 5 roosters, 2 & 4 pullets... can't see #3 well, but suspect a male... looks like primary sickle feathers are getting longer and curved. Does he have saddle feathers coming in more pointed??? Pullets do not have saddle feathers like a male.. just sorta flows right into the tail. Males have decided pointed saddle feathers directly in front of the tail base.... Except for Sebrights... they are what we call hen feathered... males and females feathered the same...
So what are these chicks? Americauna? Pretty colored....

They're just mutts.
Dad is Christopher Owen, Mom could be anyone, but I suspect Mama Wendy may have laid most of the eggs.
Both are in the videos I posted earlier about the chick's first snow. When one runs right over top of another, Christopher Owen & Mama Wendy walk past them.

Left work early. Did not want to be out after dark.
Looks like the snow may be done, temps into the mid 20's overnight.
Might use that 1 last personal day tomorrow......

I just couldn't get over how lovely the sun is just barely touching the tops of the trees.
It'll be SOOO WHITE out soon & hard to take picts.

Glad I called out the morning. I tried to get the corn out of my car & the doors are frozen shut. I'll deal with that in a couple of hours.... better than in the pre-dawn dark.

Coffee.... cats.... Christmas movies.... online shopping

I can usually wait until Jan to run the cords out for waterer heaters... but it looks like it's going to be today. Busted ice & added lots of hot water this AM.

I did instant oatmeal for the flocks this morning, but just added water, didn't "cook" it. Some hens were enthusiastic, others were meh. The roosters thought it was worth investigating.

I'll just be happy admiring your snow and hope I don't get any. But I'll have a week or two of low 20's and that means hauling boiling water, busting ice, my water turned off, extra work and misery. Blah.

I just love snow! Looking at pictures of it on other people's farms that is. LOL I am with everyone else who has a choice - when it snows, stay home, tke pix, and enjoy a fire!
