In a few days baby girl has gone from maybe 3 steps to heck she's walking. It stayed cloudy the last 2 days so the little rain we got didn't just evaporate, so that's almost just as good. DW's dog is completely different now that's she's the only dog around.

They just showed the last 10 day's rainfall. Vinita (close to here) .5, 35ish miles NE .1, 35ish miles S 2.+ 25 miles W 1.5" the other side of Tulsa 4.+ OKC 5.2
It seems that once a month we get another inch of rain within 20 miles of us, then what we get here.

I'm feeding as much hay as I do in the winter with them being dry lotted.

That's Sooo hard! I've had summers with 6-8 wks of same and wow! The expense is difficult. Plus even with rain normalizing, recovery is poor after a time. My sympathies. 😑

Right now, my area is plentiful. But could change without notice.

I got to do a little roof work today too @Baymule. I was so happy about some rain yesterday I forgot to mention I had 5 sheets of tin flip over. The replaced ridge cap split in the same spot as last time. Just this time it was everything to the left of the ones that came off last time.

Had a lot more leaks than I remembered before the putting the tin on. Buckets all over the living room. Got up there this morning and found a 10" hole in the middle where the whirly bird vent was. It was nailed down to 1X wood, not plywood or OSB and pulled some of that up with it. I really shouldn't have screwed some of the pieces together. Figured the 2nd one would hold what ever is coming off down. No no no it pulls the rest with that one.

I argued with the guy helping me when I originally put it on. They didn't want to predrill more holes in it. 4 rows instead of 5. He said that's what I got on my roof, it's fine, da da, da da, da. This is the 3rd repair and the 4th time I've added extra screws. They are the steel to wood, so not the best self tapping screws. They also wanted to just start throwing pieces up there just so I could get started with or without pre-drilled holes. 2nd piece I almost came off the roof when I didn't have enough traction after pushing down on the drill. I finally had to say, NO MORE, put the d@mn tin down and finish the holes. One guy who's was only leaning them up against the roof was gung ho, with me up there doing the drilling and walking on a slick roof. It's not faster just throwing them up there when it takes me 3X longer to put the screws in than, just waiting and letting the other guy finish drilling the 1st 5 pieces stacked together.

Then we saddled up after lunch and went and picked some garlic. I had at least 2 gallons of fluids after coffee and before lunch. I need to get back in shape.

You predrilled the holes? We didn’t. Makes sense, pushing the screws through the metal is hard!
It depends on the tip on the screw. A regular self tapping screw goes through tin just fine. A good one can go threw/through?? 1/4 steel. Mine was not a regular self tapping metal screw for the 1/2 wood 1/2 metal style tip.
