Coffee is ready. Bottle lambs are fed their bottles and are in the front yard. I still have 12 Cornish Cross chickens, going to slaughter 6 of them today.
Coffee, yes! Out of the blue, they're saying a rain storm is blowing in tonight wasn't even mentioned Fri/Sat in forecast, yesterday boom! It's something to screw up plans or not?
I'm working a couple days this week, so maybe just don't know which days now. Screwy.
It's April 15 everyone -- IRS says file or get an extension!!
They are calling for possible storms here, outside chance... but you know that the clouds never show up where they predict anyway... we're on a 1 out of 5 for severe weather... and now possible showers several days also like @Mini Horses ... I actually think it looks like she will get it worse on the coast than we will.... at least it will be in the 70's and 80's.....and of course, I have a mostly full week of testing scheduled...
Farm that had to put off for the funeral just called and wanted to do end of the week (funeral is tomorrow) ... and of course I am all scheduled.... but I offered to do Sat... thinking afternoon... but they want to do Sat morning... so there goes the whole day.... They don't start milking until 7:30 in the morning... and they said they have 80 going through the barn right now... a whole slew of heifers have calved.... ....... the guy who was supposed to come to look at them has put it off again, so they want test records on them all so that they can see about getting someone else in there to look at them.... I will be lucky to get out of there before noon or 1 pm..... have to leave here around quarter to 6, to get there by 7:15 or so to set up... they said they would wait on me for the morning test.... which I don't plan on being late ..... but that screws with the whole day for me.....
No coffee here this morning.
Got back last night, so got a couple days of missed stuff to catchup on.
Breakfast and class for the morning, then probably get a run in, ride my horse, and do some homework later. Weather is beautiful for now, I heard rumors of rain coming.
Windy and 71 with showers and possible thunderstorms tonight. Hubbs is traveling (work) and may detour to see his dad who is in poor health. I begin the informal sheep worming today and tomorrow pound posts into rain softened ground for a ram pen. No joy on finding a ram that meets the requirements. Horns, no painted desert (time for new genetics) and 8 to 20 months old to develop a good rapport with the dogs. Looks like no pup for the foreseeable future as some combination of in laws may move in. Have a good day everyone.
Afternoon ALL!
Been trying to finish wedding plans and deco plus with the weather being so nice trying to stay on top of yardwork.
60 DAYS TO GO until the wedding and of course had to be given very sad news- a good friend of mine passed. I just saw her on Sat afternoon and she was good
Got 6 Cornish Cross Dirty Birdies slaughtered and hand picked today. Got 4 in the freezer, stopping so son and I can meet my sister in law in Lufkin for all you can eat catfish. Going to slaughter the other 6 tomorrow and hope to get them all in freezer.
@Baymule ; So, son is back with the trailer??? Job is done??? How's the situation with the truck that got hit??? I know it wasn't his fault, but did he ever find out how the lady was??? I thought the job was going to last awhile longer... that's a bummer if it is over... for him.... but maybe you can get some help with a few more things there while he is in.... Yes, we are all capable... but why not take advantage of the testosterone muscle if it is available...??
