My weatherman advised of it yesterday. Spotty rains here noonish tomorrow -- increasing & staying into Monday. Turning E to NE as it gets to NC/VA line.

ETA -- 6pm news. Looks like another front moving in from N wants to hang all week 🙄🥴 rain all week & 90* after this

What?!?!?!
NC is still a long way from recovering from the last one!
I went out around 5:30 to check and replace leg bands. I was no sooner inside the coop when the skies opened with a roar. Naomi was frantic, called the chicks to her in the back middle of the coop, then spread herself over them.

I've never seen this coop flood, not like this. Wow. When the rain tapered off I got a couple flakes of straw and laid them over the lower spots so the chicks wouldn't be in puddles.

Their brooder was relatively dry.

It drained quickly, but...again...wow.

Coffee is ready. It’s foggy outside. Church this morning, it’s my quarter to track the children Sunday school.
@fuzzi it’s hurricane season, if you haven’t prepared, might oughta stay stocked up on the things you use a lot of. I’m sure you already do, it’s how we live, but extra feed for the chickens would be a good idea.

Good morning. Tropical storm made landfall in SC, we're expecting heavy rain and some wind today and tomorrow. There's always a chance for tornadoes, so I remain aware.

I was raised to keep "stocked up", but a storm forecast will make me take a second look at my reserves. I made bread again, yesterday, 4 loaves. This morning I put 3 year old pork chops in the slow cooker, layered with pickled red cabbage. That will be supper. I filled a couple gallon jugs with water from my gravity filter. And I do have an unopened bag of chick crumble, in a plastic tote in the shed.

I candled the incubator eggs last night, saw movement in the majority, drew a checkmark on those. IF the power goes out I will give those to Rahab, who remained on the nest all night, again.

I'm to right of the TD path, just above VA line, so expecting annoying rains. Maybe some increased winds but, not severe at all. Prepared. Overcast & warm out right now. Expect noonish rains to be here....annoyed that truck is full of a dump run of stuff. Yeah, headed last night and a mile down Rd realized it was 7:05 & dump closed at 7 !! :he hope I get there without rain when it opens at 12:30.

Up to 30 piglets now and still two more to drop piglets. Average 12 a sow, three got eaten, two got stepped on. Not easy having a wildfire rip through in the middle of pigs dropping piglets.
Still have hot spots on the fire and temperatures will be hitting 103 by mid week, stay salty as this could go off again.
