84 degrees and 75% humidity. A two shower day. Have 3 ewes with scours. Peptoed two can’t catch number three. In spite of the humidity it is drying out. Two very elderly ewes come to the gate for breakfast. They will help me start Vala. I’ve got to get her better on the leash because soon I’ll have to think about a spay. Anyone have a home remedy for yeast/fungus on paws? Poor Leo is having a hard time. I was thinking 3 parts water and one part Listerine in a foot soak. Or possibly a drive by spritzing.
I always liked the sprays by Schreiners. They have an herbal spray that I used for rain rot on a horse, and foot rot on a goat, worked great.

I am sure it would also work on a dog.

Thanks. It’s really popular online. I hope tractor supply has it. Bath fiasco- couldn’t get soap and water on those feet. He used to like baths, WTH happened? Drive by vinegar solution tonight, tsc tomorrow. I have chlorhexidine too but I’m not sure he should lick it.

I don't expect to see hail anytime soon. Lucky you 👍

Coffee, a couple light chores, animal checks, then off to work. No more job until Monday. 👍😁. But there's 2 forty hr wks starting then -- feast or famine. That's life.

So Thur thru Sun I'll work figs & can tomatoes! :clap

Yup, Frimplepants had twins, ewe and ram. I posted pictures on my 2025 lambing thread.

@Weldman in the winter you can unplug your freezer and set meat in a box in the far corner of your shop! LOL
Congratulations on the free roosters!
It's what I already do every winter since the freezer is downstairs, though wouldn't do the meat in a box cause of mice and packrats. The ground temperature is cold enough here to not own a fridge too once I get that situated right.

Hey @drstratton -- I saw this and thought of you....
maple bee dog.jpg

Maple is part of the team at MSU’s Pollinator Performance Center doing critical pollinator research and education. A retired police K-9, she uses her super sense of smell to detect bacteria in bee colonies to help prevent disease from spreading.
Currently, beekeepers must manually inspect colonies for disease, but dogs like Maple can identify disease much faster, which could make a big impact on the industry.
This project is one of many occurring at the Pollinator Performance Center. Operating since 2021, the center allows MSU to be at the forefront of honeybee and other pollinator research.
