We had a whopper of a wind storm come thru last night. Woke me up. Howling, banging, dogs panting in fear in their crates, one cat at the bedroom door yowling. Power went off at 1:30 a.m.

I got up and used the powerful flashlight to see what was about outside. The full blue recycling cart blew over and recycling all over. Way too windy with huge fir trees beside me, to go out in the dark to pick up our stuff...

Pots blown over, debris everywhere. I checked the auto tents down below and they looked sturdy. My winter spinach was upside down.

Took 2 hours to go back to sleep, but one of the reason was there was a 48 lb cattle dog on my pillow with me, a 45 lb cattle dog in between hubs and I, old cat next to my legs, and 1 yr old kitten on hubs legs.

I got up at 5:30, lit Mexican candles, fed the indoor animals, and waited. We then had to leave at 9:15 a.m. for a oncology appt for hubs, down in Portland. One freeway was closed AFTER I got on it. So I ran the shoulder, and my phone rerouted us to another freeway/bridge. We got there 15 min late, but they were very understanding.

Got home at 1:30, hubs is setting up the dual fuel generator that I bought last year; couldn't get it to start cus wifey doesn't know what she is talking about when she nags hubs go start the damn thing every so often; Blessed Power comes on a 2 p.m.

Wind was powerful but half the strength of Weldman's. My home insurance doesn't cover wind damage.
:hugs

What a mess!!! I dislike maintaining generators.

And oh noooooo forecast high today is 81 --- that's about 15-20 degrees higher than normal.
🙁❤️ Sad or happy? I'd be happy...lol

@Alaskan
Sad -- I'd send it your way if I could. We actually need it to be in the 60s. With the little bit of moisture in the ground from the rain a few weeks ago things will dry out fast with the higher temps. This is our green time of year -- to be followed by brown time in April - if the weather is normal.

Hopefully you'll get more rain soon!
