Good morning y’all, coffee is ready, with @drstratton honey ( no you can’t have the buckwheat honey) and cream or milk. Lamb was fed first, she sucked down 4 ounces. I put her back in the crate, she peed, I got to see if she poops. Carson follows her around scooping the poop, so I didn’t see if she pooped last night. It’s cold, Sun is out, got company coming over today, house looks like a couple of bears had a party. I guess I could clear off the sofa, but those Dewalt boxes sure look purdy. I’d really rather not do anything today, but I guess I’ll take a swipe at clearing some space.

COLD COLD and BITTER COLD... Like real bitter with the wind... Nope, not as bad as @Weldman gets... but way colder than average normal here. Mostly because of the wind... It has blown all night, gusts in areas around here measured as much as 50 and 60 mph.... there were some power outages... I did not lose mine thankfully.

It was down to 18 but the wind chill was single digits... some areas actually minus...

Our average rainfall in this area is a little less than over near the coast @Mini Horses ... we get 40-45 inches on average. We figure 3 +/- inches a month...

Santa Ana today - gusts to 30 they say. Temps 61-75 uuuughh.
No grazing today -- don't need to tempt fate around the trees, esp those that are compromised from the lack of rain the last two years. Going with a friend to the cheese shop on the coast. Still haven't weighed the lambs - need to do that and schedule the butcher.

I'm in same general area as @fuzzi and our aver rain is 49". That's almost an inch a week aver 😄 makes for good gardening -- except July/Aug can be a heat challenge for plants.

About 30 yr ago DH & I traveled the West Coast by RV. We did a LOT of RVing back then & traversed cross country several times, visiting many national parks, etc. We wanted to see the USA and sure did! In retrospect, I've seen things that may not be there now -- or has seen significant changes. Glad to have done that traveling. Now, photo albums of memories.

Back to our normal winter temps this week. I could sure do without the extra winds!! Too much turbulence makes outside work unpleasant. Today I have a day of job work -- not much & mostly audit stuff. More driving, store to store, with these type jobs. It's $$ so, suck it up...can't do much outside anyway. Looks like 2 days of work next week 👍 at just one location. Yep, slowly working back into the workaday grind😉
Nice memories! Traveling across the US was our plan once Ron retired, but instead of an RV we were looking at getting a fiberglass trailer, like a Scamp.

Blowing hard here, though not as bad as last night. We have tall hardwoods and cedars, and they were swaying at the top, which spooked Caleb during our walks. This morning the chickens were pleased to receive some BOSS. I topped off their feeders, threw a handful of feed in the fresh straw as most of them like scratching for it. Waterers had a skim of ice, easily broken. And I collected a pullet egg from the Sussex boxes.

Now I'm in. Brr.

Morning everyone!

We're back to working on the bathroom today. We decided to buy a custom built shower pan, that way we know it's waterproof and we won't have to spend hours down on the floor making one ourselves. The caveat is, it will be 5-6 weeks before we get it. In the meantime, we'll keep working on what we can. Heading to Portland after the 4th to buy the tile we're putting in. We we're going to do that this week, also a getaway for hubs birthday, but my being sick, put a kibosh to those plans. I'm thankful he hasn't been a sick as I have.

I need to get moving, the cold meds, I only take at night knock me out. Hopefully finished with those soon.

Time for some tea! 🫖☕🍯

Have a lovely day all! 💞

Good afternoon all!
Crashed out super early last night. I guess my body's trying to recover. Still have a headache. Might be withdrawls from mainlining coffee for 7 days. 😂
You haven't had enough coffee until you can thread a sewing machine. While it's running. ;)
Think I was there on sunday. :weeeIf my sewing machines we're in a different state now i'd have given it a try.
Getting a few normal things done today so far. Haven't packed a single box yet since getting home. Catching up a bit so probably start that again in the next few days.
Hope y'all are having a great day!
:hugs

good morning. lamb has taken her bottle is in my lap nibbling on mt other hand. full tummy, she sucked down 7 ounces. neighbors from Switzerland came over yesterday to see all the lambs and feed the baby. They had a friend with them that has a heavy German accent. Between his mangling of english , my southern accent and Texas drawl, Catherine or Sarah rattling off German or Swiss (their english is better than mine) we all had a good time. Catherine has a English accent. Sarah, her daughter has no accent. They all got to hold baby lambs, Sheba targeted their friend for belly rubs, which he happily obliged.

Winter weather 😖😖 feel like 23* out there 🥶🥶
Only 58 inside, so heaters on, hot coffee in cup. Can't believe there's 2 months of this to go! I mean, it'll get into mid 40s but that's what? A few hrs??? Winter 👎👎👎🤬🥶🥶 my opinion of that. I'll have some icy water tubs to break up.

Not gonna move but, I'll complain another 20 yrs! 😁
