Filling flasks with plaster.

This is a kiln that came with the glass studio I bought. I wasn't using it, so I gave it to my son. After the plaster has set up for about two hours, you have to burn out the resin wax. That takes about 13 hrs. With ramps up to 1350° and then ramp down to between 200-300°. This doesn't show the filled flasks, we were just dry fitting.

While the flasks are still at around 200°, we pour in the pewter. It was under a vacuum.

Working on getting the plaster off of the coin trees. I was also cutting the coins off on this one with a pair of dikes as I went.

These are the first 3 trees we did. We made a total of 5.

Coins in the tumbler for a little bit of polishing. We decided not to electroplate them.

It was a very involved and interesting process. I'm glad it's finished. Couldn't have done this without my son
