Just got off the phone with the attorney. We have zero choice but to pay the bill. If we don't because the trust is officially closed it will go to the buyer of the land who will then sue us to cover it. In the meantime it will incur fees and penalties and go up substantially in amount. Plus attorney fees it would turn into an even bigger check we'd have to write. Exactly what did we pay ALL THE PROFESSIONALS for if this is coming to bite us now. Not one person we hired even knew this was possible. How? The county says it's standard. They actually have 3 years to send us the bill. How can this be news to the attorney, title company or realtor? I'm fuming mad. Just put the check in the mail. That is a huge hit to our savings that's supposed to be going towards moving. Won't do any good but I really just want to sit down and cry. This state just keep sucking every penny we have out of us. No good deed goes unpunished. :he :he :he :he

Good afternoon all! :frow
Got up early to tube the calf again. She's acting better but still just flowing out the other end. Hopefully another two tubing's and she will be back on the cow. She got tubed last night and SQ fluids. Nothing were giving her is working. These dairy calves are unreal. Never have long term issues like this with beef calves. So frustrating. Jersey heifer looks so miserable but still not calving. Tornado warning last night at home. Some pretty decent winds and some hail. No tornado thankfully. Freezing today. Crazy weather swings. Still rather be there than here. It's currently 90* right now. Grass is starting to dry out already and turn yellow. At home it's just now starting to grow. Soon we'll need to get started mowing. Not sure how we are going to keep up on the yard from here. 🤦‍♀️
Spent the last few hours on calls with the county trying to figure out how they can possibly send us this substantial tax bill. Let alone so far past sale. I'm onto their deception though. Little by little each person I talk to give me more ammo against them and how they are being shady. Unfortunately I can now for sure say they have the bill attached to us and will continue to access fees and try to collect from us even if we are at our new home. So we have zero choice but to pay the bill. I'm waiting for a call from yet another office in the building. I want an explanation as to how they can possibly access the property 2 months AFTER the sale and know what the condition was before sale. They literally just put down the sale price. Not to mention how can they expect it paid when the trust specifically LEGALLY had a 180 deadline for closing the trust. They sent the bill PAST that point. I know there is no way we are getting out of the bill but if I can get it reduced at least then it's less out of our pockets. No good deed goes unpunished I tell ya. I'm so over this state and it's corruption:he:he:he. Attorney isn't getting back to me. Probably too busy trying to get ready for his vacation tomorrow. Another vacation. :rolleyes:He just keeps telling us to not pay the bill and just let it sit as unpaid. Let them come after us if they so choose. Ya that's not going to happen. They WILL get their money one way or another. That is a fact for CA AND there will be penalties for not paying it so we'll end up paying more if we don't get it paid on time. :smackI'm so tired of people not doing their jobs. :barnie:barnie:he:he.
Since I've been having so much fun dealing with all this nonsense I decided to try yet again with Home.com to get our private information removed for our new house. They put our information on their website without our permission. We did not authorize anyone to list our information. They claim it's public record. Yet they managed to list our load amount, interest rate, names etc. The person I talked to originally said I needed to have that redacted from the county. County said that's not possible. I just found on their website where i can request deletion even though the customer service agent said it couldn't be done. We'll see how far that gets.
Just sitting down with a cup of coffee. Hopefully have one more before DH gets up. Then we can get started with chores etc. Can't believe how hot it is outside already.
Y'all have a fantastic evening. :hugs

I saw a recent clip of an interview in which Governor Gruesome plainly stated that California has lower taxes than Texas. For the life of me I don't know why lightening did not strike him dead for being such a liar.

Got heavy winds again, a little more rain, not much. This was a fast moving system. Of course the weather people magnified coverage. Several huge disasters have had less warning & I'm sure that's impacted the networks coverage. Chilly 33 now but, stayed warm enough from rains to not have heavy frost. Sun is bright, calm out there.

Having my morning routine :caf can't change what's done, no need to rush. I'll need to dump water from food bins most likely. Penned moms & babes in a common, protected shed last night to settle my own self for keeping dry youngins!

I see a LOT of grass coming fast 👍

Sorry @RR Homestead -- this state is a mess giving away promises for votes while padding their pockets with gold. It's the new gold rush. I'm stuck here, but I will say I'm not dealing with crazies and housing developments encroaching (yet). I love the land - it's beautiful family is here and that's another why we stay. When I go into town I see how things have changed and it's not for the good. I'm so sorry that you're being robbed by the state. You've given a lot, got not much if anything, and the state wants more while bringing in /letting in those who only know how to say "gimme".
