Coffee anyone ?

Schools are closing tomorrow in Houston area. North of Houston, all the other counties up to the Texas/Oklahoma line are closed.
I think that line may head past NE. The noon weather showed a NE snow plow getting pulled out by another snow plow. I didn't see it all but I did see multiple yanks, so even a snow plow couldn't just pull it out.

For a cattle or horse trough, if possible, hack a drinking hole down to the water. Dont fill up over the hole. The layer of ice will act as insulation for the trough, then you can break ice in the hole. I learned that in Snowmeggdon of 2021. I kept a squirrel stick in the big tank all the time so squirrels could get a drink and not drown. Other wildlife used that stick as well.

Is that your photo?

Incredible photo!

Light snow 18 degrees. Lambs seem to be coping. Ewes very hungry so did a light feed just now. In-barn water has ice but thin enough for them to get through. Outside bunks about 2 inches thick. I think there’s a milk jug/salt water trick but I didn’t think of it til now. I fretted about Crockett because his Komondor genes insist on bunching and trying to cord his coat, leaving thin spots but he’s fine and trying to play with me. Smitty slept on a round bale, shook off the dusting of snow ready for breakfast totally nonchalant. Two more days below freezing, a break and then more cold weather. Going to cut cedar branches for sheep. I have plenty of trim up areas.

Sheep are huddled up in their shelters. Sentry is nowhere to be seen, nor is Sheba. Cooper and his ewes took a tour of the field earlier, but didn’t last long before running back to their pen.. Buford stayed with them, out working by himself. Just now i saw him on the field looking around, like where is everybody? LOL

All you in that frigid cold - oh man -- I know what that's like, and that's why I'm here. Hoping that the cold eases off all of you soon.

It will be either 17 or 14 tonight and colder tomorrow night, depending on what weather site you want to believe. Wednesday it will get above freezing .
