Gosh, it's 46 outside...very cool here for late May. Plus it's only 66 inside that one little 3" opening in the kitchen window. Brrrr. Wasn't expecting the chill. So coffee sure seemed s.l.o.o.o.w. making. Could hardly wait. Had slept until 7, another surprise.

But the sun is shining. The incubator is holding temp/humidity. The goats are inside their barns. Starting out a good day! Have a short job at a close store to do "whenever" today. Any errands will happen then. Boston butt on sale for 99 a#, I'll grab a couple for freezer on way home. Dollar a# meat is a buy!

Wishing I had that pumpkin pie @Baymule mentioned. Could enjoy a big slice with my coffee today.

Slept until 6:30! I guess was tired from yesterday's mowing, freezing vegetables, etc.

The strawberry-rhubarb pie filling I prepared yesterday evening was frozen in the refrigerator this morning. I baked the pies anyway.

I'm sure they'll be edible.

I'm drooling! Can't grow rhubarb here - I've tried a lot of times. It's rare to see it in the stores as well.

I didn't think it was possible to grow here, but an octogenarian gentleman does it, sells at the farmers' market. He told me that he was thinning it out, that's how I bought them last week.

Checking in, went to Blue grass festival yesterday with girls. Church this morning then we’ll be making pie crust for that pumpkin pie! Made rice crispy treats last night.

Well four out of five (Caddo is inside under a fan). Moses is waiting to eat. Sophie is pointedly ignoring the camera and sure that Vala is up to something. Leo is master of ceremonies.

I have just piddled around most all day -- but I'm tired Did feed chores, scrubbed water tubs, made a feed run & unloaded, did some fence fixes, lot of walking and now I'm just not feeling energetic. Maybe I needed to rest, it's been a long week. But farm needed me. Maybe too much piddlin. That's life.

Think I'll go make coffee. Day off, but it's supposed to rain on and off all day. I wouldn't be able to mow anyway since there's something wrong with the mower's back wheel. It just froze up. Later I'm going to text the guy who fixed it less than two months ago.
