Been a fun few days here - picking up the two new sheep then getting my brother at the airport later that day. A couple days with him - so good to be together. Made lamb meatballs while he was here -- oh so tasty. Had to stop at the W store for a cooler - @fuzzi omg the prices on coolers now yipes - especially one big enough for a lamb!

I picked up a simple 30qt with wheels and a rather flimsy handle, $30!

I kept a ewe tied up for 2 weeks. She liked the ewe lamb, despised the ram lamb. I tied her in the morning, made multiple trips to check on her, untied her at night. The ram learned to sneak up from behind while the favored one nursed. I left them penned another week, then turned them out. She never did like the ram, but he did his sneaky nursing and survived.

Good morning y'all, coffee is ready. I slept until 7:00! I woke up periodically, enough to know it was raining and go back to sleep. Its still raining.

It has stopped raining. Guess I oughta drag myself together and get outside.

Also slept late but not in bed until midnight, so it goes. Home from work at 9:30pm, then chores. It happens! The chicks take time. Need to get them onto shavings this weekend. Just found my heat lamp, although plenty of red bulbs were looking at me, waiting. Until then, jugs of hot water worked. This is way more work than a goat kid and the hen with chicks! Plus I'm milking each day. Frig is too full again. My chore list is more "ya need to stay home" right now.

Only half day of jobs today. Great!!! Better get gone!
Next week I see only one job day relief

Couldn't fall asleep until 5am something I think. Then up at 6:15 - gonna be a long day.

Slept all night which is unusual. It would be a good thing except I woke up in same position I fell asleep in so half my body is in more pain than usual. Usually I have to sleep like I’m in a rotisserie to minimize it

Ready for bed! Chicks are asleep, animals were all ok. Water tubs topped off, goat milked, eggs collected....I'm t.i.r.e.d. it was another long day.

I slept late again. Coffee is ready. Its foggy outside and the sun is shining like a fuzzy almost dead battery flashlight. Need some sunshine to dry things up around here.
