Home today and thankful to be! Four days of resets for the front impulse buy wall at dollar generals. Any one coming out has seen the mess🤪. That 4' tall, 20-24' long& both sides packed with hanger clips and shelves -- plus the candy, gum mints crammed up under the registers -- all overloaded with candy, batteries, and sx?@ t. Yeah, those. It's enough to make you cross eyed. Anyway -- all day ea store, 2 of us working frantically, dodging customers. You're sure glad when it's done!

I'm certainly enjoying being home for 4 days. Coffee is lovely -- relax & enjoy is lovely 😍

The figs....ok, I have 2 dehydrators. Yes, 115 is temp & not set in stone. Old one, no settings & works fine, you adjust the openings at top for air flow/temps. Being soooo fluid, figs take a couple days and I switch trays around as needed. You can see one drier than not and move to keep things sorta same rate of dry. Once dried, I put into half gal mason jars. They need some occasional air and shaking. Of course you can freeze them. I don't. I shake, open, sample and close up. 😄 Do not use oxy absorbers!! Think prunes you buy -- that's what figs end up like.
Great, thanks! Guess I will drag out the dehydrator, never used it before, brand new and an impulse buy last year.

Time to make bread, too, as I'm down to half a loaf...maybe later. I'm dragging from yesterday, but at least most of the yard was mowed.
:weee
I really want to hang the curtains, but need to mount a long curtain rod first. DS was going to assist, as he's a lot taller than me, but he either has a GI bug or food poisoning. This morning he's finally able to keep down some Coke. I'm not going to bother him until he's better.

Dog training, sheep check, student last minute, making bread because it's officially BLT season, canning tomatoes - going to be a busy day. LOL Watch - it could be a lambing day on top of it - you know when it rains it pours kind of thing. Oh I should check the ewe cam - phew nothing new so far.

So, I'm a tea drinker... am I allowed to share in this thread...lol

Hanging with my 5yo grandson this morning enjoying my tea. He has autism and is so very sweet, makes this grandma's love overflow. Waiting for his 2yo sister to wake up, also on the spectrum, love her just as much, sweet babies. Need to do some chores outside and start sourdough, but priorities right now are, tea, Declan and Charlie (Charlotte)! 💗

One tray of figs, one tray of strawberries, and I just picked enough figs to fill another tray.

Spacing looks good. I should have made some apricot fruit leather, but time just didn't allow. Hopefully I can dry some Asian pears this fall.

@fuzzi that's like my older one...but black. Remove the top 2 empty trays and you get better dry time. As they dry, close the vents more to retain the heat.

Honestly, that one works as well for me as the one with timers. Just that it only turns off when you unplug. The newer has digital time & temp selection, no panels to adjust to get air flow as it has a fan. Plus, bought older at Habitat for $8. That's been about 8 yr now 😁 still going strong.

🥰 Of course! I'm a tea drinker...mostly hot. Used to be my morning brew & only coffee at the mid afternoon slump at work, in the office. Now I need the hit in the morning :old :D =D but, usually tea about dinnertime.

Hubbs bought Pupster two new toys. She ignored them in favor of something she dug up in the yard. A relic of the previous owners’ dogs. A rubber tube with chew rope laced through holes in such disreputable shape a posted pic of it would be awful. I can usually locate it by odor. Or I imagine where I would least like to find it and there it is. On the sofa today so “Lally” is put up for awhile. I’ve had the dogs in due to heat and haying. And having good indoor manners never hurts. Yep that’s as clean as the floor and rug have been today.
