Got a text, my sister-in-law's funeral is Monday, in Connecticut. I'll be driving 700 miles, leaving Saturday morning. I'm not doing it in one day.

I've not booked the hotel on the way home in case I stay an extra day.

I'm going solo, prayers would be appreciated.

You can do this. Take a picture of Ron with you, put it in the front passenger seat. I did that for awhile after BJ died. It seemed to help. Bonus points I could gripe at him for not being there.
When I went to @Mike CHS and Teresa’s to get Rocky, I drove it all in one day coming and going. It’s about 700 miles .
You are going to take 2 days, stop and spend the night, so it will be better on you.

A property just came up for sale, we are going up to 165 acres from 144 acres which puts us as farm land and our taxes drop down 2/3rds for all properties.

I woke up at 4 AM, dozed on and off until 8-ish. Got the trash bag out, haven’t done much else. I think I’ll let sheep graze the driveway and yard today. Cooper and girls can have the driveway, Little Ringo and girls can have the yard. Don’t know how that will go, gonna park mule at back door and use it for protection if I need to go out back. I’ll have to go through the back to put Ringo and girls back in their pen, so should be interesting. Sure wish he had his Daddy’s attitude, but he just has to be a run you down head butting jerk.

Had a 9:30 appt that made me wait 45 min to be seen blew my nicely timed plans! Now I've done things, just later than -- and now I'm grumpy, reworking the schedule. Hell to get old & impatient. But, hey, don't overbook....or make the late one wait.

It's hot...you sweat, it doesn't dry because humidity is so freaking high. Your clothes are wet. We had a hard rain about midnight. Another 1.8" that wasn't needed

We got less than a quarter inch of rain last night...not very helpful.

I was planning on taking Ron's urn (box), maybe scattering some of his ashes at places we used to go to.

He can sit in the passenger seat.

Day two includes a route through the Delaware Water Gap (think Poconos/Dirty Dancing). It's deeply wooded, lots of wildlife, and there's Dingman's Falls. We stopped there, probably about 15 years ago.

The total trip is 698 miles, one way.

Officially a handful of the ewes are now ewe make-a-me crazy - nothing new overnight and they look like they are beached whales with watermelons (could be another week-ish) but ya' never know. The new lamb is now over 2x birth weight at 2 weeks.
Went out to train Sage - was late getting out (leaving house at 6:20) got to where I'd planned to train and sleepers. GRRR things are getting worse (sleepers aka homeless and druggies) are spreading all over in the town south of us. They never were there before - but now it's almost a take over. Glad I don't live near them.
I won't work a dog around them, especially Sage who is still getting over the a-wipe that killed the old dog.
Sheep are hold outs (damn a lamb now would put a smile on my face). Garage door got stuck in the open position (yeah I used the handle / cord to close it -- needed a step ladder). Have a student coming around noon - should be good.
Plan on canning something - prob. zucchini relish. Hope everything seals never had a problem - but it is that kind of day.
Where the heck was the moon to set all of this off???
On the plus from yesterday I canned a bunch of jars of cowboy candy.

Dear friend does chicken duties, DS does cat duties.

I went to pick up my car at the airport, there are no cars. They took my reservation but there are no cars. Called car rentals in town, no cars. They suggested I try calling Raleigh car rental agencies, which would be at least a 90 minute drive. Oh, wait. It's Friday afternoon. It's more like a 2 1/2 hour drive. Madness.

I know God's got this, but I am SO frustrated. The only room available at the hotel was a non-refundable. Argh.
