That was so cool. #1 glaring mistake—no foundation stones to get it up off the dirt. Soil contact is rot and termites. Placing candles on the wall next to dry boards would make me nervous. Otherwise it’s a snug, warm house, able to cook a meal and a place to sleep.
Agreed, others made the same comments.

My thought was wondering how quickly the mice would make nests in the hay insulation.

Coffee is ready. Picked up granddaughter’s yesterday. It pounded rain all the way. Could barely see, was going 50 to 45 MPH on the interstate. Normal speed is 80. Funny, driving slow, I read speed limit signs and speed limit is 65. Got 1 3/4” here, barely a puddle, dry ground soaked it up.

Woke up at my work day time (5:20), no alarm, first time doing that since I became sick.

Coffee still tastes awful, hope that goes away, and soon. I'm working on little stuff, swept the steps outside, then I sat and rested. I folded and put away clean laundry that's been sitting in a basket for over a week, then I sat and rested. I am planning on going back to work tomorrow, but it won't be my usual 10 hour day. One day at a time.

Feel better soon!

Woke up at 3:45 with a terrible headache, at about 4, I wandered to my truck to get my Advil, and got up at 5:20 for my little bit of work.
Last day of summer, and planning on doing absolutely nothing. Nice part is that I have been coaching a 6 am practice, and that will get moved to after school. Time to hit the real world I guess.

@drstratton my youngest granddaughter’s birthday is September 1 also. Yesterday it fell on Labor Day. She wanted pumpkin pie with a 9 birthday candle. We face timed her parents and sang happy birthday. My daughter’s birthday is September 6, sometimes it falls on Labor Day.

Coffee is ready. What to do today? I’m sure we’ll think of something.

Iced coffee chased by iced tea. Hubbs is back from visiting his mom in another state. Said the flight was a zoo, noisy kids, cranky adults and attendants who looked worn out. The first mouse of the 2025 season flitted through the utility room- dang. I got the house cleaned up only to have the Maremmas and Sophie pack in a bushel of sand. Should I sweep or start fall veggies in the living room?Mice will probably vote for the veggies. My 75 hard exercise routine petered out after 3 attempts. I haven’t lost weight but clothes are looser. Got a hike planned to check fences and see if the creek has water. Have a great day everyone.
