My DD works as sub teacher. Three days this week were in the agriculture lab at a HS. Fun days! They have a barn, pigs, goats, chickens & sometimes sheep or cow. So feeding & barn cleaning -- classes include learning all phases for farming & livestock raise & use. Plus veggies & seed starts. They learn & make soaps, cheese, sausage, etc., raise & sell donated animals from newborn on, incubate eggs. Large local farms have provided funding. This is home to the Luter family, the Smithfield Brand of products. It's hands on & book learning. We're rural so this can happen right there on the school property of several acres. The wood & mechanical shops help to build chicken coops, feeders, etc. Future farmers ☺️ Several animals are ready for the county fair next week.

Just thoughts while enjoying my coffee. She said the kids were surprised they had a sub whose BTDT and everyone had a great time....not a city girl they could tease 🙄🤣

It's back to my job tomorrow. I'll get something cooked today to make lunches and healthy dinners, fast. Opened frig to add last nights milk -- it'll be a milk process day! Need some room in there. The dryer bell just dinged -- better go get them. Plus a load of jeans in washer need to get hung.

I'm a couple of weeks into building an Ag program at a small school. The ag farm and growing stuff are all a huge dream right now.

28 outside, fall is here. Going to run before church, grocery shop after, and then be back for a chili thing tonight. First time in a month that I have left town on my own, kinda excited to visit a big city for a couple of hours.

Summer showed up here again. Nights are cooler. Caddo and Sophie did a walkabout but didn’t leave the property, just dug out of the front yard to the lower pasture. Came back skunky and sore. Hubbs found a dead hog near his deer blind but couldn’t determine the cause of death. Maybe a neighbor winged one.

My new friend's Jersey Dairy cow died the day Charlie Kirk was assassinated. . Just up and died overnight. She was a marvel at milking. Almost 5 gal a day! She was not old at all. Her second heifer was 6 months old. My friend tearfully called her friend, a mobile butcher. He came over and they cut Rosie up. They couldn't find anything wrong.

She did have two babies in her, which made it even sadder. She's trying sell her Dexter and the 2 month old heifer, but its a tough time for finances for people. She can't buy another milker until the Dexter is sold. She's also going to sell one of her milk sheep. East Friesian?

Good morning all! Watching the grandbaby's this weekend. 💞 They sure make me sleep well. There is a reason we have our children when we're young...lol

Or oldest son will watch them for me when I put the youngest down for her nap. We have to do some major beekeeping chores today. Hope I won't have stories of a stinging good time... :gig

Have a beautiful day! 💞
