Forgot to share a night time visitor on our patio last night, well he's probably a squatter and lives here full time... :gig I don't mind as long as he's cleaning up bugs! Fun to discover him.

He's probably wishing I'd sweep the patio more often...😁

I don't watch news.

I don't watch TV.

I have some online friends who I chat with on Signal (we met on Twitter before the purge in 2020...?) and we share thoughts.

I subscribe to Substack authors, who might talk about medical stuff, or even political, but never in a screeching Chicken Little Doomsday kind of way.

I chat here on BYH, BYC.

So...I read articles, books, putter in my gardens, visit my chickens, do that which gives me joy.

I'm still planning on getting a dog once I retire. December 1 can't come soon enough!

I'm looking, to see what's out there. I saw a cutie today, medium sized, 3 years old, and watched a video of her lying down near one of the cats in her foster's house...no aggression. She looks perfect.

A good friend said it might not be good to adopt a dog immediately once I retire, that I will need some time to decompress.

I don't see an issue.

Any retirees here want to chime in?

This is the dog, Maple:

She's adorable! 💞

Sometimes I would really like to have another dog. But now that we're retired, we travel too much. So I will have to wait for one.

I am on vacation.

My first vacation in 30 years where the goal is just.... "breathe and find joy" INSANELY DIFFICULT! :ep

Wow... crazy town! How do people manage?

Sounds simple, it really isn't.

So... I have an hour to kill before this museum opens. Why am I going to the museum? Well... because what else are you "supposed" to do while on vacation???? Loony toons.

Anyway... I asked myself, "joy, find joy" so.... where did I go? A park, I found a bench where I can sit and watch the birds... mostly mallards, one goose, a few pigeons... and something or other I am not familiar with.

@SageHill does that mean you're signing up for class? @Alaskan are you vacationing in Alaska?

This Saturday is the Gilmanor swap day. It's my vacay day 😁 Yeah, vacations are a day off now. Traveled way back, nowhere left to go now. That's relaxing in a way...no packing or farm sitter needs.

Still cool & overcast here. Daylight just happening. First cuppa done, dishwasher humming, a couple feed chores waiting. Then a hot shower and it's off to work, last day this week. Nothing unusual.
