And if the SS clerks lost the original then it's going to cost me 💰💰💰 for a new notarized copy, from Connecticut. It's not cheap, they price gouge.
The people at the Social Security office lost the notarized marriage license copy, think it got shredded. Can't order another marriage license copy, the vital records are sold through a third party, and they only offer marriage "certificates" now.

I am beyond irritated.

You have the copy they "returned to you"... they initialed it or stamped it or whatever... Tell them that since THEY LOST/SHREDDED the original... it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to accept what they already recorded... and that if they give you grief... threaten them with a lawyer... I would get real nasty/nice in a hurry... since their incompetence is the reason... NOT YOURS.....

They accepted their own copy, but will others who request a copy?

Just spoke with someone at the Town Clerk's office, where Ron and I were married. I can still get a copy of the original license, notarized, but it's going to cost me $30+. I know SS won't pay for their stupidity. Grr.

Sorry @fuzzi that you have to deal with this. Mine was all done by phone interviews because of Covid, everyone was working from home and all SS offices were closed. PITA!

On my second cup of coffee, I slept like a rock. Slept so hard that I did not wake up to what must have been Carson's attempts to wake me up so he could go outside. He has developed this 2 AM go outside thing. So I woke up to a heaping pile of dog poop in the kitchen. I gingerly stepped around it, made coffee, THEN I cleaned it up. I do have my priorities straight. I didn't fuss at him, I slept through the alarm for an hour too. I should be outside doing chores right now, but I am going to finish my coffee first. Then up and running. SIL has PT appointment at 10, I gotta go back to the AT&T office. The car charger I bought had the wrong plug for the charging cord and the charging cord had the wrong ending for my new phone. Why can't they just leave it the heck alone! I'm tired. I'd much rather sit here all day in a coma, but I'll call a wrecker truck to haul my a$$ outa here, hit the road like cow plop and run like a bat out of He// with his a$$ on fire.

Unfortunately it's a shady card game and the SS folks hold all the aces.

Hello 0300 hrs, your brain kicks into overdrive thus turning the body heater on full blast. The adrenaline kicks in, but you must remain in bed as it's a open house plan and you don't want to disturb the spouse. Start cooking so much even the cat sleeping at the end of the bed makes a run for it to cool off.

My internal alarm clock seems to think I should be up at 4:45 about 6 days a week, even if I could sleep till 5...
I think the most exciting part about my day (after my Red Bull) is going to be going to the post office this afternoon for some packages.
This town is great, but it is somewhat interesting to me that we all get a free PO Box, and don't have mailboxes in town. It is kind of interesting trying to order from certain websites that say they don't deliver to PO Boxes.
