I went into the food bank yesterday at 6 a.m. Worked till 12, cus my feet were aching, on the concrete. Anyhoo, it was crazy busy again that morning. Monday morning 50 clients, Tuesday morning 58 clients. The regular Tuesday volunteer staff could barely keep up.

I and another gal, who arrived at 8:30, got thru about half of the donations from Monday. The asst director said they took in about 7K lbs of donations on Monday. The gal and I went thru, stocked shelves, checked code dates, and then repacked like items with like items into banana boxes, taped and labeled. They are going to off site storage until we have some room for them. I'll go back on Thursday afternoon to continue to help.

If any of you shop at Kroger (or their other stores, like my Fred Meyer), the checker told me that every Tuesday, only in November, will be senior discount day. Normally its just the first Tuesday of the month. Check your local Kroger owned brand to see if they are doing this.

My internal alarm clock seems to think I should be up at 4:45 about 6 days a week, even if I could sleep till 5...
I think the most exciting part about my day (after my Red Bull) is going to be going to the post office this afternoon for some packages.
This town is great, but it is somewhat interesting to me that we all get a free PO Box, and don't have mailboxes in town. It is kind of interesting trying to order from certain websites that say they don't deliver to PO Boxes.

Use your post office address, then box number. Talk to someone at the post office and they will tell you how to do it.

Coffee with a dash of sugar and cocoa today. After a few busy days today is slower. Blind ewe isn’t going to recover I suspect. She shares the safe pen with two other old ewe ladies and they spend the day complaining and getting assorted tidbits. They enjoy the skin and core of pineapples. In ? February? Blind Hazel may present me with a lamb, she is Rackacoon’s mom. I don’t think she’ll be able to raise it, so I will. If she will let it nurse that would really help. I may build a pen for them as BHazel’s biggest issue is getting disoriented. Almost time for lunch where did the morning go? Have a good day all.
Below Rackacoon.

@Blue Sky BHazel will prob become less disoriented once she's been in one location. Her senses for smell will guide her to water, feed, fence, etc. will take little while. A smaller area will be appreciated by her. Bells on lambs will give her direction to find them. It's sad but, I've seen blind animals do amazing with just some minor help & considerations. Essential oils on one side of entry door to shelter, shavings by fence, etc., even wind chimes were used by some. Hopefully one of the other old ewes will begin to help her around. Animals can be amazing!! 🥰🙏🤞

I have a friend with a blind dog.

They put down tiles a foot before the walls... for some reason the dog can't remember just how long the rooms are, but she feels the tiles on her feet, and so doesn't crash into the wall, but knows to stop or turn.

The tiles are sitting on their rug, not fixed in place, but they don't shift.
