@RR Homestead the buying & selling process is relentless for last minute issues! I was a realtor for 30 years. The fastest & easiest closing ever was the place I am now -- bare land, survey recorded, cash buy. 😁 Yep, title search, sign & pay. Hang in there!

@murphysranch everything Bay say is spot on. The caregiver part is high stress. BTDT two times and still have occasional nightmares. PTSD is real.

All these morning reminders make me want some Kahlua in my cuppa coffee. But none here. I did sleep well, even if not 8 hrs. That'll help make my day brighter. Chores next, then work on some hot wire fence issues. Mostly walk to find break.
That is what we are learning. Now the appraisal has been straightened out. Sounds like the boss was sure worried about loosing his license over the whole thing. However now there's an issue with our insurance policy's wording. UGH! Really?!! They've had it in their possession for weeks now. So it has to be changed before closing then we can put it back after closing. The games are wearing on me but I'm just putting it in God's hands. Trying to just roll with it. After the accident last night and worrying all night and this morning it's reminded me of what's important.
On the accident front if anyone is following and wondering any updates I have good news. The mom and two kids are doing well. No major injuries which is pretty incredible. That suburban did it's job for sure. So glad the mom is such a stickler for car seats and properly securing the kids. On top of it thanks to the facebook posts that were made the missing puppy was spotted and is now safely at home recovering. He was just cold and scared but is doing well now. I'm sure the family is so relieved to all be ok and home safely now. Prayers answered for sure.

Good morning. Moves are drama. I had a lulu a few years ago. Buyer was hostile. She really wanted our house. We were days away from foreclosure and she and her realtor were- pardon my inferred language- effing us every which way, to save herself money and out of spite and entitlement. She arrived a week before the move and told us we had six hours to move or the deal was off. Foreclosure papers were on the front seat of my car by then. I had 40 sheep with several in lamb ewes about to deliver, 2 Pyrs and 2 Anatolians. It was the hottest day of the hottest year recorded in that part of Texas. Neighbor s gathered to watch as she followed Hubbs and I around “supervising” the move. She brought an entourage, 3 stepsons all marines, who glowered and got underfoot. Then we got a call, the seller of the place we were going to backed out- no deal. Most of our fencing and tools were there, inaccessible. That was a bad moment. Miracle One, my realtor called. She found a place we could rent at least temporarily. Miracle Two, the mover hadn’t brought enough trucks or people but word had gotten to my coworkers who showed up with hands and vehicles. We all unloaded retailer trucks at night, hot exhausting work, they showed up anyway. I had no idea where we were going but we got there. Couldn’t find the house key and the mover threatened to impound our stuff. Texas law, must have key. No pen for the sheep. Miracle 3 Mover changes his mind unloads after all and his crew slaps up a decent fence. Key found. Two more trips to the old place to pick up dogs, odds and ends while the buyer interfered. We got home flopped on the sofa and I thought to myself “God showed up”. And He had.

I learned later that the buyer’s realtor, fearing to lose the sale, convinced her that we would vandalize the place before we left hence the “get out” routine. We probably had some rights but we didn’t know what they were.
That is unbelievable. I don't have any words but I do have some anger for what you went through. It's truly amazing how God shows up. That's for sure. Sometimes I think some of these realtors need to be flicked in the nose. Some of them cause so many unnecessary problems for nothing more than money.

Good evening all!
Working on dozens of deviled eggs this afternoon in between calls with the mortgage company, realtor and sellers. The sellers are some of the nicest folks. Very supportive and understanding for all the silliness happening on the mortgage side. Thankfully they've bought and sold homes a few times so they know how it goes. Need to finish up the deviled eggs tonight. Have a couple dozen for thanksgiving at my friends tomorrow and a couple dozen for me and hubby here. I can't leave him hanging. I always bring him home a load of food too so he should be set for a bit. Need to milk tonight for cream so i'll have to fit that in at some point too. Hoping to pack a few more boxes tonight to get me re-motivated on that front again.
If I don't talk to y'all before Thanksgiving I wish each and every one of you wonderful people a happy Thanksgiving full of love and blessings. ❤️ 🦃

Yep. It was an extraordinary day because I’m not religious. Belonged to no church. Still don’t. God is however Near. And sometimes what is meant for ill gets stood on its head. I barbecued for my coworkers after I got paychecks ahead. The buyer had considerable ill will from the small town. Word had gotten around. So many strangers were kind to us, and so many who sort of knew us. I learned a lot of lessons.

Happy Thanksgiving All!

This will be my first Thanksgiving without Ron, after 45 years. Caleb will be a good distraction, I think.

Awake since 4am. Not getting out of bed, yet.

Pies and cranberry sauce are done. I will start the stuffing and turkey after 6am.

Caleb whined on and off for about 45 minutes after being put in his bed crate, but has been quiet since. Eventually, I wouldn't mind him sleeping on the bed, IF he behaves.

Coffee is ready. I was wide awake until 1:30 AM, then woke up at 6:44. I went outside and did chores in a stupor. No date for Ozel and Buford this morning. Had a shower, now having a cup of coffee. I’ll pick up son and we’ll go to Conroe to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving.
@fuzzi today will be a mix of sadness and joy. You had 45 years of love with Ron. Mixed blessings, just not ready for the party to end. We are never ready for the party to end, but we’re still here and life goes on. Today is a good day, you have good things going on in your life. Give Caleb a hug and a treat, and this will be a good day.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and be safe if you are traveling.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.... Had a night of high winds, said they were over 45 mph gusts... it beat around the house all night. There is a breeze out there this morning, but it's NOTHING like the battering last night.

BUT... the temps dropped... from a high in the low 70's yesterday, and comfortable... to 30 overnight... going to be in the 40's today and 20's tonight...

Going to some friends this evening for Turkey Day.... with DS...
