Good afternoon all. Schrodinger’s cat is a scientific experiment where a cat was put in a box with the potential of it dying instantly at any given moment. The theory is that it could be alive or dead simultaneously until directly observed. I have Schrodinger’s skunk under my gazebo. I went to Walmart. I left Sophie in the yard and Leo and Caddo in the house, Moses was in the pasture directly adjacent to the yard and Vala in her pen also adjacent. Returning I knew something was up when I opened the driveway gate. Skunk. Lots of skunk. I pulled into the garage then backed out. It reeked. Sophie walked up with an apologetic wag. She had taken a full body shot from the business end of Monsieur Le Pew. Inside the house the boys had overturned furniture and the odor was pretty evident even to my nose (lost much of my sense of smell to Covid). Better weatherstripping indicated. I checked Vala and she was fine in spite of the atomic grade skunk stench emanating from under the gazebo, next to her pen. Moses had also participated in the caper but he wasn’t too stinky. So is the little xb&## 🦨 alive or dead? The weather is cool and damp so the odor may not dissipate and I’m not sure it’s even under there although evidence points to gazebo as a defensive position. Did the fracas begin in the garage and end at the gazebo or vice versa?

@RR Homestead the ownership will sink in about the time you unload the first trailer full...that's when you shake your head, think WTF and WHAT was I thinking??? Yep, more trips, more anxiety, more self questioning. :old :theventually things improve.

Slept late. Slept well. Enjoying my morning brew. 😁
 I suspect you are 100% right on that. You must know me already. 😂 Last night my DH and I were working on one of the rigs that's getting all new parts before it's journeys (mostly him 😂) we kept talking about more parts or expenses we have coming or need to buy and he turned and looked at me and said "Well we'd be able to do that but you had to go buy a house and all".:lol::lol: So now our joke at least for now to cope with the money going out is to blame each other (joking of course) for buying a house/ranch. I think it's helping a bit to just laugh now at all of it. We had a really lovely talk for nearly 2 hours last night with the sellers and I tell ya they are some of the most amazing folks you could ever meet. It's such a joy to talk to people that are folks like who used to be here. Just genuine joyful and honest folks. They are working on getting us a list together of who they use for services, who's recommended for vets which will be really good to know and talk to before the livestock and pets arrive, and any other information they think we can use when we are just getting moved in. We learned that they were just in a car accident day before last and their van is most likely totaled. They are ok which we are so thankful for but it's likely going to delaying some of their moving progress and worse yet their holiday plans to see their family. We have offered for them to delay being out a bit longer as long as they keep their insurance like they have now. That works great for us too so someone is still in the house. Means less time it will be empty while I'm going back and forth.
I am joining you in enjoying the morning brew! It tastes different today. Everything just feels different now.
I'm relieved for you, @RR Homestead. Now to clear your head of frustration, anger, and bewilderment at the incompetent fools that didn't handle anything right....

What do you and your hubs do, when working graveyard? I've never worked Grave, just swing shift at a garlic plant in Gilroy CA. My best friend from 2nd grade, was a policeman in Milpitas and he LOVED grave.
Thank you! We went over all the drama last night with the sellers. I think they knew things were up but we didn't tell them any details until it was all over. Come to find out they were doing the same. They are less than happy with most of the same people we are. We have just been so blessed to have these sellers. It's a relief they don't blame us for the nonsense that went on. Even thought they didn't know the details at the time they apparently knew enough to know it wasn't us that was the continual problem.
DH works nights at a sanctuary. He's the only staff on overnights. I worked for the facilities for years but no longer do. I stay on nights so we are on the same schedule so I work our ranch etc at night. It allows us to still get things done together and have some sort of a life together. As we get older it's harder and harder to have a life with nights. We can't stay up to do things like we used to.
A Chinook is a warm wind. It can take temps from freezing to 40's even 50's like it did last night.
Interesting! I don't think I've heard that term before.

So glad the sellers are so understanding and are helping you with what I'm sure is much appreciated local information.

Here's an ai overview of Chinook winds. Ours come over the Cascade Mountains.

That's really neat! A week or two ago I learned what lake effect is too. My weather world is expanding!

I much prefer a Chinook, that's why snow doesn't usually last long around here.
Yup - Agree on that, LOL growing up I'd hear about the Chinook coming down from Canada - but never really understood how since we were all central and not near the oceans. But there were those warm winds that would come on down.

I remember reading about the Chinook in one of the Little House books.
