Tax time cometh! This yr you MIGHT be able to claim your dogs ( or cat, horse, chicken) on your tax returns 😳 also included are health assistance animals.

WORKING PETS
In many cases, those animals used to earn a paycheck, can make someone eligible for a tax credit.

Specific pets that qualify include barn or warehouse cats that catch pests, guard dogs that patrol businesses, and herding or livestock guard pets on farms or ranches.

Training, vet care, and food tied to the business for those pets are deductible.

So, if you have these....ck the IRS rules. 🤔 Those who file separate farm returns, might already have included.

MY. PSA for today. 😁

One stuffed penguin gleefully gutted...

Need to start on mincemeat filling, will do so in a few. It's best when it marinates overnight, but I ran out of ambition yesterday.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone ❤️

Hot coffee, toasted english muffin. Yum. Starting my day. It's sunshine & prob 60 degree day. Nice.

Yesterday I went upstairs -- which has become the land of OMG, you need to clear this out!! -- to retrieve an old framed picture my DD asked to have. Anyhoooo, while there I randomly looked into a couple storage areas. Hmmm. I really need to clear out!! :duc :old where'd it come from? how? Why? Yep...years of stuff. So that's my Jan project! I did, however, find a whole lot of new needle & syringes I can sure use. Jeffers was out last order, now I don't need to buy! That's a positive. Yeah, 122 new units already here. Lots of saved $$ & now pre kidding CDT can happen without more spending. Vaccines were already bought.

Oh my, the other "saved treasures" await. I see a lot of sale items -- new horse halters, 2 sets of driving harnesses, saddle blankets, books, new coffee pots, the list just goes on & on! Who knows what else. Boxes of stuff. Shut the door. I'm floored right now.

When I retired people asked me "won't you be bored?"

Nope. I'm cleaning and clearing and organizing!

Ron was a worse packrat than I, don't want to leave all my clutter for someone else to handle once I pass on.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone. It's here at the house tonight and then DS and DDIL's tomorrow. For us tonight it's our traditional Swiss Fondu and fruit salad and of course cookies and eggnog for desert and opening presents.
My old dog Lumen has made to Christmas (barely) and will have one last round of opening Christmas presents.

The fearmonger weather ap and weather folks have been issuing severe weather warnings. Everyone is in a tither over it. I get it, weather can be bad - but somehow pushing and pushing it is getting old - ala Little Boy Who Cried Wolf. We were forecast on Friday to have 4.3 inches, today they say..... 1.3 inches. I get how things can and do change - but it is more fear mongering than anything else. Not making light of those up north who are truly dealing with too much rain and flooding.

Back to Christmas and the Christmas Spirit.

Merry Christmas Eve all!🎄 💗

I'm trying to decide if I've finally caught a cold from all the days we had to be in town.

There will only be 5 of us this year. FIL & SIL will be here tomorrow. We used to spend Christmas eve and day with everyone, times change. I always imagined having our grandchildren here every Christmas.

Tea is gone, need to wrap some presents and see to a few final details.

Have a beautiful day everyone! 💞
