Happy New Year. Been raining since yesterday afternoon on and off. I did see some fireworks when I walked the dogs last night --- it was east coast midnight

I’m not a fan of fireworks. Had a horse go through a fence, knew one that broke a leg kicking his stall, and have veteran friends and family with PTSD. Idk why people have to terrorize innocent animals and torture those who fought for us, under the guise of “celebrating”

Hoping I’m strong enough to wallpaper the bathroom. Maybe it will encourage him to finally finish! I treated myself and got a little “echo dot” so I can listen to books or music while enjoying a candlelight soak in the tub
My son Cody, made it to Texas last night to check out the game ranch offering him a job. I pray God gives him peace about it if that’s where He wants him as it’s causing him a great deal of anxiety.He texted me :

“Abby has said she thinks she doesn’t want me to move. I feel torn…job I love or people I love. Catch 22. ”

My former neighbors shot fireworks and guns. Large caliber, belt fed stuff. I’m glad we left before they discovered tannerite. A prayer for your son.
Our NY celebrating included checking the Maremmas as there were fireworks around but not too near. They did fine.According to deer cam Hubb’s buck hung out at the feeder munching corn, apparently not concerned. He left in the company of a couple of does. No new lambs. Happy 2026 May we all live as long as we wish and love as long as we live.

29 with a wintry mix coming down on our drive into town, hubs is driving, I don't really feel up to it. Hoping the roads don't become too icy. The sagebrush is covered in frost. I think it finally chose to be winter, at least for today...lol

The fireworks started at that time here too. I also heard guns going off starting in the afternoon.

So many fireworks and gun shots here. Worst to date. Tons of bassing parties all around us. Miserable night.

Our new house has a huge tub. I can't wait to use it but there is HUGE mirrors all around it that must go first. Not sure what will replace them but it's creepy the mirrors in that bathroom. I hope you get the wallpaper finished quickly and enjoy some good soaks.
