I'm so glad you were able to reconcile with him.

People definitely do.

Abby is 16. Kinley is 13.

In 2 years, Abby will go off to college. Or maybe move to Texas. Kinley is old enough that if she wants to live with her dad, she can. Or they can spend summer, spring break and long holidays with him. This is all he’s ever done. He doesn’t know anything else. It’s tough but the girls need to understand that he has to work. I’m guessing he pays child support? How can he pay child support plus support himself in a low paying job?

Up early. Anticipation...to not be late for 9am apptmt. Extra hay in racks last night for goats to have this morn. Round bales are sure looking attractive. 🤔

After breakfast, with this free time at wake up, I chopped cabbage & carrots to make coleslaw. That's 2 cups all mixed & in frig. Odd morning chore.

Time for another cup of hot coffee!

Have a great day everyone :frow

You beat me up. Only going to drink one cup of coffee. Gotta make a feed run. I want to be there when they open, so I can get back, check for new babies, feed, then scoop all the feed I bought into metal trash cans.
I have Tinkerbelle her bottle, now coffee for me.

Good morning. I'm sore this morning from yesterday's shenanigans. Caleb is actually calmer, sleeping right now.
:love

Got a call back from Animal Control, good conversation.

Also this morning I saw that Tyson is closing one of its plants, thought of my cattle friends here like @farmerjan 🐂

They say that one reason for the closures/reduced kill hours is because there is not enough beef to keep the plants operating. They want them to operate at 100% plus everyday... then when they do, and the numbers get up to where they can't handle it, they cry that there is too much beef and that they have to run double shifts and the oversupply drives down prices...
It's a racket... there are more small processors than there used to be with what happened after covid.. many are state inspected so the farmer can only LEGALLY sell you the beef animal, and "you" are having your own beef killed.. and then there are 2 of you that go together for a "half a beef" .... because we cannot legally sell anything by the pound or the piece.... that is not USDA inspected and that adds $1.00 lb on top of what the farmer needs to get... REGULATIONS for your safety you know... yet all the recalls are from USDA plants of any type... meat, food processing etc...

Heavy overcast this morning. It started raining when I walked dogs at 5:45. Hmmm forecast, you guessed it - not supposed to rain. With the overcast I'm not sure what I'll do. Was going to let sheep out and clean out a stall. Think I'll wait a bit to decide.
