Had to drive to Moses Lake today. Having breakfast with daughter, her hubs, fil & sil. Except hubs can't find his dad. We got a phone call from him on Friday morning wondering where everybody was, we told him again that it was on Sunday. Got here to pick him up and are now waiting for him to get ready, he thought it was planned for Monday...lol He's 91 and doesn't hear very well, especially over the phone... so he's allowed to be discombobulated...💞

Have a lovely day everyone! 💗

From a town not far from us...........
Dispatch: “There’s a cow in the roadway.”
Us: “A what?”
🐄
🚓

We’re used to chasing suspects… not cattle. Last night, an adventurous cow took an unauthorized stroll in the roadway. Officers responded and safely reunited the escapee with a neighbor, until the owners who are out of town could be contacted.
No injuries, no charges—just a brief case of beef with traffic.
😉

All is well—case closed, pasture bedtime.

My Mother is like that now. Sis tells her a time for pickup for Dr appts. Not the actual Dr appt time. Sometimes she needs to get Mother out of bed when she arrives. Mother is 95.
Does your mother still live in her own home?
Fil just sold his house last summer and moved into assisted living. It was his decision, he's really enjoying it. It's so nice for him to have people to interact with daily.
My Mother went to be with the Lord in 2024, she was 93. She was living in a skilled nursing facility, because she broke her hip, had many complications after replacement and finally had to have it removed. I still get the urge to call her.

Afternoon all. Well I’ve got a bottle lamb. A twin who Hubbs found in the barn. He was clean and dry, dry navel nice round tummy. Tried him on mom but she wasn’t interested. Started him on a bottle of store bought formula (didn’t have the milk for Auntie Baymule’s mix). He did fine. Strong sucking reflex, active. He was fine at the two overnight feedings. Normal poops. At 10 this morning I took him a bottle and he had crashed. Curled up and lethargic. He did take a little formula. I’m mixing up Baymule’s recipe but he doesn’t look good. So- proper feed to a warm, active lamb, clean, warm place to rest, gave some otc colostrum gel although I suspect mom had nursed him, what else can I do? And did I miss anything?

My best option is mother's milk....not always possible, I know. I have found jug with Mom usually turns out well for both. THEN there are times we have wrestling events. At decision to bottle, best is combo of mom (or donor) milk with formula. The natural milk has gotten several kids into a "working" tummy system for me, before I use store bought milk & canned condensed milk, etc. I don't use any powdered replacements. When I have a good producing doe I freeze milk. If bottle needed while milking, I use fresh milked. Sheep are not always easy to milk! Some of my goats resist but usually give up after some "encouragement" :hide

I'm certain you're doing all you can. Sometimes our efforts just aren't enough. 😞 I'm sure hoping you can save him. 🫂
