Ok, I know it's winter BUT -- I'm seeing a few suggestions that last week of Jan into first 2 of Feb is some prime time for snow in VA. Basically, central & western the heaviest. Heck, the map I've seen is showing some amount in all but very extreme SE corner (that's me 😁) No, I don't feel left out!! Don't want any. Heads up @farmerjan, @secuono, @canesisters.

Up at 5 and wish I hadn't been. Practice for back to a full day of job work tomorrow. It's a big team job. Hate those because there's a set time to start and it's not always convenient. Yeah, I'll have to leave home when I'd be just lazily enjoying coffee 😵‍💫

This morning is cold! Low 20s. I'll start up the propane stove this week. It'll run the rest of winter. You see flames by fake logs. Relaxing to watch but I'll have to adjust to the light it puts off all night -- that I see from the bedroom.

I just put this on my knees and shoulder less than 5 minutes ago. I am absolutely shocked at the pain relief. I will be buying more of this to have in stock. Holy cow I am shocked. In my experience homeopathic's generally don't work so fast. Thank you for suggesting this! :hugs

I shout the benefits of arnica far and wide. I even keep the pills, called remedies, on hand. I give the pills to the dogs for copperhead bite for the pain. I take the pills too along with the cream rub. The rub will dissolve bruises, plus give pain relief. Great for arthritis. I used the Arnicare rub and pills when I had knee replacement surgery. It lasts 4 hours.

Lambs fed, clean potty pads, on first cup of coffee. Need to go to the grocery store. Need to disc a place with my tractor where I want a pit dug. I want a deep pit to throw stuff in. I’ll be tearing down an outbuilding, crappy coops and the rest of the round pen. I want to burn it and not worry about nails. So I’ll be able to just cover it up. Son wants me to disc it and break up the hard crust on top.

Well, we made a mistake on the floor tile we bought. I didn't realize it until this morning. It's ceramic, not porcelain, so we will be heading back to Portland tomorrow to get porcelain tile. When we switched the wall tile we wanted to buy, we were focused on trying to find a color that would match the new tile. I always make sure that it's porcelain, especially for a floor application. I was in too big of a hurry. I had everything picked out for the other tile, so it took a bit to change my thinking and all of the products we had in our cart. I'm really disappointed, because I love the tile we bought. The tile we will be picking up will go really well too, but it's just a gray tile.

Hubs decided that we will also be picking up more hardwood while we're over there, make the most out of the day we can. It's 8 hours driving for a round trip, plus the time spent shopping... it's going to be a long day. We will have to make at least one more trip, unless hubs decides to pick up the rest of the wall tile tomorrow too.
Better to catch that now than when you go to lay it! But ugh on the long drive.

Almost 10a. Dogs fed first thing. No new lambs. Hazel moved herself several feet overnight but I don’t think she’ll make it. Has hay and water, resting on her chest. Dogs out but returned quickly. No new lambs but several ewes look ready. Cleaned up the Hen’s nest. No new eggs today. Housework, barnwork same stuff different day.

I was awake at 3am due to Caleb whining. I tried ignoring, then using gentle "shh" commands. I avoid sharp/loud commands as they get him cringing (abusive past owner?) so I finally got up and took him outside. He had a GI upset, so was a good boy. He settled down back in the crate, but I was wide awake for another hour or so

New mattress and frame for third bedroom is being delivered today. It was way overdue, set was purchased secondhand 20 years ago, and was in poor condition. The frame had recently broken, too.

No more spending, I'm done with investing my last "retirement" check.

Thanks and agreed! We are halfway there, just fueling up the pickup. Gas is cheaper in Oregon. We are buying all of the tile, so at least we don't have to come over here again, well, not anytime soon.
