Back to unseasonably warm (really should say hot) 82 -- geeze WTH!! In the 60s is the warmest we should be this time of year. Yesterday I got stuck in traffic going to Kit sit. I listened to Mike Rowe's podcast -- the guy he had on is over the top brilliant (Palmer Luckey). At 19 he invented "Oculus" (sp? one of my students told me it is the virtual reality head set for games). Zuckerburg bought him out when he was ?-22-? to the tune of $2B - yeah. At any rate in the 2 hour podcast they touched on climate change. He said it is absolutely possible. To either warm or cool. Has to do with fountaining ocean water into the air creating clouds. WOAH. Yeah. The way he described it makes sense.
Back to my low tech dogs and sheep.

I just have to say "thank you" to my hens!! ❤️

A friend had to leave town for fam issues & unsure of return. So she gifted me some frig foods. A dz eggs ... White store bought. Not needed but to use up, I hard boiled to make egg salad. 🤷😳

Wow!! Of course I expected lighter yolks but, these had so little lemony color you barely told from the whites. Taste????? None! Well practically so. Now, I haven't bought an egg in a store in years. Plus, not a big egg eater. OMG what a shock. Didn't know they were this bland, store bought.

So, God bless my ladies!! Great job girls. 🥰

Just a testament to why it's worth the time & $$.
A former coworker loved getting extra eggs from me. She said her egg salad tasted so much better.

Did some yard work today, mainly raking, coop maintenance, and fixed my rake. After I went inside DS called, car wouldn't start, no one nearby to jump it. So Mom to the rescue! Wouldn't start even with a jump, so I called my mechanic, who sent one of his employees to get it started. He succeeded, and I followed DS back to the garage. Battery is DOA, five years old, so I got my money's worth. I think it was the last battery my dad installed for me.
:hugs

@RR Homestead I read about your cows & milking issues ... Longing for that cream to make butter! Goat milk butter is not as tasty (the milk is great!) -- but, I don't need the quantity a cow gives. 😞 I just dream on....I need to find a "just buy cream" raw dairy
I never know if anyone wants to hear about all that. 😂 We finally invested in a cream separator two Christmases ago. I despise the machine but it certainly makes life much better for what it does. DH has an ice cream addiction and it helps make more butter for sure. We are dangerously low on butter so it will be good to get some made again and back in the freezer. I've never had goat butter. Can't say I've drank goat milk either but it'd totally be down to have it. We can't keep up with the cows milk either. We make a lot of cheese, butter and ice cream but use a lot to feed pigs (when we aren't trying to move that is) as well as graft extra calves on so she's raising animals to help pay her expenses. We're a little overrun with milk cows at the moment. Two heifers, DH's poopsy is about to calve and our main cows eventual "replacement" will calve in march. We will be up to our necks in milk and milk products. I'm hoping to train them to milk and then let them finish by being nurse cows while we finish moving. I'm in a panic over all the milk coming. 😂

Whew whatta day. Three big single lambs and a set of healthy triplets. Spent time getting one lamb or another back to mama. Weather changed from balmy to chilly. Moses snuck into the safe pen but was only interested in the afterbirth. We are miles away from him being lamb safe. Caddo got “treats” too. He and Sophie did a short AWOL and came back having not left our land. Old dogs they know what they can get away with

I've always wanted a milk cow, but we just had too many other priorities. Fresh milk, butter, cheese, cream... would be amazing. 💗
