Here's the recipe link:

I got the pith off of all the segments soaking them in water and pectinex overnight (it's an enzyme mix a little with water and you're set to go). They were GORGEOUS .....

Sadly the boil for 5 minutes those beauteous segments disintegrated. But - the tiny taste of what was in the pan was good. I'll open one tonight for a topping on ice cream and will know for sure.

They are the most incredible creatures for sure.
We are taking our equipment. Most is there already actually. Just need to clean up the hives then pack them. Sadly I caught the most incredible HUGE swarm this year right before I started doing hospice care for an aunt in law. Lost our 2 colonies (that’s all I want to maintain) due to queen issues the previous season. Learned a hard lesson on certain mite treatments and queens. Due to running 24 hours a day doing hospice and ranching I wasn’t able to maintain my colonies regularly and they swarmed and left. Bought a new queen and she left taking pretty much the rest of the remaining colony with her. Knowing I would be overstretched with the hospice and then the trust I left the hives empty. Unfortunately the bins I had everything in must not have been sealed well enough and everything got overrun with wax moths. So I have a lot of cleaning to do before they go. I’ll probably trap a couple swarms next year and start over again there.
I'm so sorry! That was such a hard time for you and I'll be glad when everything is finally in place and you can put it behind you. 🫂

Good morning (looks up)...er, good afternoon rather.
:caf

Caleb knows "corner", which is sitting by the side door, and we've been working on "wait". He does well until I'm out of sight, then follows me, and I have put him back by the door. Rinse, repeat.

Today Caleb waited while I went out of sight UNTIL I CALLED/RELEASED HIM!!!

Believe me - I could've eaten A LOT of them. If I had more than the recipe called for I'd've snacked A LOT! Not a single segment was eaten -- I barely had enough for the recipe and I don't mess around with canning recipes.

Yes, you definitely need exact amounts.
I have an online recipe box where I can save any recipe. It's called "Copy Me That" Would you mind if I add your pictures with the recipe?
