So it's umm -22 out. I have never worried about my truck starting, but I think I'll be lazy getting ready to leave for town.
Going to go on a road trip today, granted that's part of just going to the grocery store and leaving my bubble.
Should probably rally and get out of bed to hit the treadmill and get warm for a minute.

@Poka_Doodle flour tortillas, make quesadillas with chicken or beef, cheese, grilled onions and strips of bell pepper. Cook the beans suggested by @Weldman snd make burritos.

Corn tortillas-TACOS! NACHOS! I fry the whole tortilla, flat, then cheese and jalapeno slices. Nuke in microwave to melt cheese. Fried corn tortillas will stay crunchy several days in a gallon zip lock baggie. Can also top fried tortilla with meat or beans, cheese and jalapenos.

Beef roast in a crockpot. Add potatoes, carrots and onions. Before adding anything, use a can of cream of mushroom soup, packet of dry onion soup and can of water. Makes it’s own gravy.

Temps crashed about 90 minutes ago. 35 to 25 degrees, oddly no wind just suddenly colder. Sheep in barn with hay and water. Ghost became one but that was expected and she didn’t have any distress. Maremmas apparently slept outside in spite of snug, dry doghouses. Leading horses to water I guess. They had a good breakfast. Have to watch the well house and bottle lamb space heaters. Roads have begun to freeze. We’re as ready as we can be.

Just rub a little of whatever you get on yourself, onto them and they are completely personalized!

OMG - they're real?! (less the barnyard make up). :lol:

@Poka_Doodle -
Lots of great ideas already posted. Add in olive oil - keeps on the shelf for a long long time - use it like butter esp for sautéing. Garlic and onions (fresh is great - but the powdered works fine), you can sautee rice, orzo pasta etc before you cook it in water (think Rice-a-roni kind of). Oh and bullion -- any kind. There's stuff in the can/wax box, cubes, powdered, and the best is the paste - "Better Than Bullion" -- a perfect add in for anything. Great for your own soups or stews, and for making with rice or pasta.
