Good morning. I woke up at 3 AM to thunder and hard rain. It's 28 degrees. Of course the first thing I had to do was feed Tinkerbelle and Mabelline, clean the dog crate and put down new potty pads. Water is off, but I have plenty in big pots, gallon jugs and pitchers. The south is getting hammered from Texas to New York.
My daughter and SIL are in New York for a play. They've been planning it for months. Their flight home was canceled for Monday and rescheduled for Tuesday. They're hoping the play isn't canceled tonight. It's 15 there right now and snowing hard.

0 out!!!!!!!!!! High of 14.
I was warned about these temps this fall. My truck made angry noises yesterday about this.
Got home at 11:30 last night, so I slept in today. Heading to church in a minute and then I think it will be a long treadmill session. Probably could run outside, but it just doesn't seem like it would be much more fun then the treadmill.
Best wishes to everyone who has animals in this!

From what I’ve seen on the news, I just hope they can get home!

🥶 Anyone have any experience with shoe cleats for ice? I’m iced in. Slowly hacking my way to chore town with an elderly dirt shovel. Hubbs has taken care of the barn chores Bless him. The ewes have consumed 70 gallons of the 90 stored in the barn in roughly 30 hours. I had the salt blocks covered because the lambs were mugging them and I was afraid of salt poisoning. Chilly water and fixing to freeze water is about all we can provide. 48 hours til temps climb above freezing. Faucets are freezing in the house and damned if I know why. I’m running water, cabinets open etc. Thermostat on 71. Added a short morning feed and the better hay. Low tonight 7 degrees. Vala will be in. Moses will be fine outside with good grub and a snug doghouse. I don’t know why the colder snaps at the other farm went more smoothly. Maybe it’s the psychological comfort of a fireplace.

Here it's cold and an ice rink!!! Very little snow last night, just a light covering, then frozen rain. Crunch city. I don't break completely thru it but it cracks & crunches under my light weight. Animals have all had water & plenty of hay 2x today ... Hay racks full. Good luck for tomorrow. We haven't gotten to 25 all day, then add wind chill.😞 It's such a "wet" cold.

Barns are dry and bedded well. Plenty of fresh air, wind breaks, etc. They are fine!! Not amused but fine. 😁

Well I’m just a fuss budget so I’ll post pictures. My ranch has an official name but I call it Weathertop.
