Catching up, Day 3 housebound.

Not my street, but the SECONDARY road they've not plowed. At all. Ever.

That isn't snow, it's hard packed ICE.

I can wait to go anywhere.

The irritating part is no mail, and no trash pickup. Utility payment may be late as I can't/won't drive four miles to mail it. They charge extra to pay online . I'm extremely unhappy with trash pick up being cancelled for weather. I pay quarterly, and they've "oops" missed me due to a new driver, or "oops" cancelled for weather, and I've never gotten credit or an amended bill. I've used their service since August 2006, but may just cancel. I left a polite but firm voicemail.

They say they'll "try", but don't always succeed.

Good evening everyone!
Several phone calls made today while I waited hours at our tire apt. Not sure what the point of making an apt was. At least I was able to be productive. Mortgage company still hasn't cashed the payment check. Apparently they still haven't gotten it. They said there's a grace period so not to worry. Well it long should have been there so I am a bit worried. I'll have to make an over the phone payment next week if it still hasn't been delivered to them. USPS is really becoming worthless. Also called and found out why our private information is online for our house purchase. Have an email into the county recorder for further info now. Apparently that's where these 3rd party companies get our information to post online without our permission. I never gave permission for it to even be public and did ask the realtor to be sure it wasn't public. So hopefully I can get that squared away this week.
Got the name and number for a large and small animal vet close to our new house. Will reach out to them soon and ask about getting breeding hormones etc. Will also find out about having a vet out to do a herd health exam when the animals arrive just to be sure everyone is good and we have a good program in place for the new area. I'm sure the needs will need to be tweaked for there vs here. Slowly making progress it feels like.
Got tires today for the next vehicle going to the new house. Should be ready to start planning the trip after a few days of road testing. Yay! Need to order some sheets for the spare bedroom bed so DH has a place to sleep when he's there. Putting a list together of things he needs to take to be comfortable there that can stay. Like a coffee pot and coffee. Very important stuff you know. I am really looking forward to him going. More every day. We are very much ready to be out of here. Not sure if I've ever mentioned that before.
All the calves are with their moms/graft moms now. Watching close for overeating scours. Middle calf is still a sickly little one. He got another dose of antibiotics today for the pneumonia. Hopefully that's the last treatment he'll need to get. It sure would be nice to not have to milk or treat anyone for a while. Only milk when needed. Got both cows started on grain now. Slowly increasing the amount. Green grass should be making a difference here soon as well.
I think that's about it for the moment. Need to get busy doing chores and get DH out the door soon and off to work.

When I said temperatures swing extreme here that means both ends of the pendulum. Not just cold, but heat too and anytime of the year. People joke about how much their temperatures swing, there is no buffer here of what is possible. We even get high barometric pressure and hold the world record of largest snowflake, though no evidence exist to corroborate that. They actually used a bomber to bomb the river once here back in 1940's to break an ice dam up.
