That's the kind of surprise nobody wants. I'm glad your husband is ok.

Then there's Weldman.........  :gig :gig
Yeah I would have something Viagra couldn't compete with from that. Ah memories, my first experience with getting blown up; Zumar Iraq, a SL (squad leader) was told to look in a buried tank from a tanker truck to see if there was any fuel in in. Instead of using his tac light he used a lighter, all I remember is a wall of dirt and debris headed my way and waking up covered from it with ears ringing.
He was 9 lined out to Germany then to San Antonio for 50% body covered burns, Lt ended up with broken/bruised ribs which got him a medivac out of there and split anothers Sgt's forehead from debris. Went through 5 Lt's that tour. Still got the pictures of the aftermath if anyone wants to see....

When you give the grim reaper the middle finger for what should of been the end, it's a rush that can't be replicated. In the mean time I will pet the kitty, as the wife says: fuzz therapy.

Good evening all!
DH said to thank you all for the water heater advice. He had looked into the on demand water heaters before but they got such bad reviews he stopped looking at them. He said he will look more into them again. Also the recirculating system. Today was the water tank. He went to town and got supplies and got started on that. Went well until it didn't. Thankfully he went down to check on everything and noticed one piece that looked to have moved. Yep. Touched it and it blew flooding part of the basement with water. He ran to the breaker which of course is all the way in the house and got it flipped off. Had to change the plan a bit then clean up all the water with limited supplies still. Then went out and noticed the day/night light he put up last night on the outside of the barn was still on during the day. Got back up on the ladder and sure enough. Cheap amazon junk. The sensor was inside the unit not where it was supposed to be. He was able to take it apart hopefully repair it. We'll know soon. He can't bring it home. Would be a pain to try and find an amazon return place there but we'll do it if we have to before he comes home.
It's been windy and cold here today. The cold part of the storm has arrived. Everything is pretty flooded. Trenches I dug out are running like rivers but there's so much run off and standing water the trenches can't keep up. Supposedly a little break in the rain Still have chores to do and tackle more house work. Really need to sit down and start working on taxes. Haven't touched them yet. Not sleeping at all right now. 15-20 minutes here and there isn't cutting it. Almost forgot I still have to bring in the goat stock and get it cleaned up (bones removed etc) and cooling so it can get put in the fridge so I can get the fat cap off tomorrow and get it on trays to freeze dry. Not sure what else I'll get done tonight. Would really like to get some sleep tonight. About the time I get some sleep DH will be coming home and then we'll be back on night shift. Really looking forward to getting moved and on normal schedules.
Guess I'd better get out and get to feeding. Hope y'all have a good night. :hugs
Sigh. Yuppers ol' Amz'n is getting cheaper and cheaper by the day. A lot of UPS places also take Amz'n returns (though you probably already know that). By the time you all get moved in everything should be up and running perfectly. We had on demand water heaters (two actually) and they are great. We did have a recirculating pump at the old house when we moved there ('89) and it was nice, but it also kept the water heater in business keeping the water in the pipes hot. We ditched it. That said that was 35+ years ago so things may be different now.

Could not find a Hats off to you or a saluting icon ...

Be proud of what you did and the man you are... Hope your wife understands who you are... she is not only lucky to have you, but you are fortunate to have someone who accepts you even with the "craziness"....

Hellacious storm last night. Slept through the one at 2:30, woke to the one at 4am. LOL didn't hear the first one (there is a plus to hearing aids out!) the second one I heard something - first thought earthquake dogs all sat up (yeah some are on the bed -- I must have a phd in "pretzel sleeping") saw in the wake up screen of the phone "Special we........".
I'd never seen that before sooo yeah, had to see what that was all about. Three screens with warnings here's two...

So that was the start to the morning - dark and early. It's just getting light out and I'll be checking around the ranch to see if anything else has been helped/relocated by Mother Nature.
Yeah yeah yeah - you all can stop laughing - I do know BAD weather having grown up in the midwest, I've gotten soft in my old age. ;)
